The Dune blanket is inspired by my trips to the Fylde coast in Lancashire, where soft rolling sand dunes meet huge empty beaches and wide open skies. I've chosen a soft, muted palette of colours to describe the feeling of walking on a breezy beach in early Spring when there is still a chill in the air. Wandering the shoreline collecting shells and breathing in the salty sea air, a feeling of contentment and calm.

YARN COLOURS
As is usual for my blankets, I've chose fifteen shades of Stylecraft Special DK for my Dune blanket.
This is enough to make a single/twin size blanket measuring approximately 120cm x 180cm.
If you wish to make a double/king blanket, you will need to buy two yarn packs.
Top row, left to right...
♥ Mocha ♥ Pale Rose ♥ Parma Violet ♥ Storm Blue ♥ Sage ♥
Middle row, left to right...
♥ Camel ♥ Mushroom ♥ Silver ♥ Cloud Blue ♥ Spearmint ♥
Bottom row, left to right...
♥ Stone ♥ Powder Pink ♥ Parchment ♥ Duck Egg ♥ Lincoln ♥
You can find the Dune yarn pack in my shop at Wool Warehouse, click on the link below :
The yarn pack also contains a 10-page full colour printed pattern.

I've created a full tutorial for this delightful Seashell Stripe, with step by step photos to help. The pattern is suitable for beginners or more experienced crocheters looking for some easy, therapeutic hooky time. You can find the pattern and tutorial by clicking the link below :
Below is a list of the 100 stripes I crocheted for my single bed size blanket. Stripes/lengths for alternative blanket sizes are given within the pattern.
If you want to make a Colourwash version of the Dune blanket, I wrote a blog post all about it which includes a full colour chart for you to download. Click on the link below :
There is a second tutorial which gives the full pattern for the Dune blanket border. You can find the Dune edging pattern by clicking on the link below :
I've written a post to share the story of my Dune blanket journey, including lots of photos and chat. You can read more about the Dune blanket by clicking on the link below :

I have purchased the Dune Blanket pack.
There is no pattern in the pack and on the sheet in the pack it states that the pattern can be downloaded from here.
However, I cannot find the pattern on here and above it states that the pattern is included in the yarn pack?
Where can I find the pattern please???

Just finished this gorgeous cosy blanket. I used a different colour way of my own devising - based around the lilacs flowering in our Swiss garden, which also hark back to my childhood on the Isle of Wight, when my mother would have armfuls of lilacs in a huge purple glass vase on the hall table. I have now left that little bit of paradise so it's a nice reminder.

Hi my Dune blanket is getting bigger at one side what am I doing wrong and how can I manage it without forging it.

Hi I fell in love with the colours of the dune blanket and have decided to work the colour wash version. May have enough yarn to make it bigger! Would I still use the same colours for the edging as the stripe blanket?

Hi Lucy I love all your blankets and not being a brilliant at crochet I do them all in the hydrangea pattern which I love doing.i wonder if you could give me a repeating 15 stripe pattern for the harmony and moorland packs.

You always inspire me Lucy! The colour choices and the stories behind them set my creative mind a-buzzing and it will not stop until I had listened to it. The Dune story inspired me to create some bunting that would go with the blanket. The free pattern and photo tutorial is on my blog: https://daffodilwild.wordpress.com/2019/05/27/beach-bunting-adding-beads-and-shells/
Hope you like it!

Please can we have the pattern for the ammonites? Or have I missed it?

In your Dune blanket intro you show the colours as crochet ammonites - is it possible to have the pattern for these? They're amazing! I love fossils and would love to make some crochet ones with my blanket leftovers
Thanks for fantastic patterns

In your first photo you show a different tonal arrangement for the rows. Would you be able to tell us the colour order you used please.
