About Me

  • Hello! Thank you so much for visiting me in the Attic, it's lovely to see you. My name is Lucy and I'm a happily married Mum with three children. We live in a cosy terraced house on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales in England which we are slowly renovating and making home. I have a passion for crochet and colour and love to share my creative journey. I hope you enjoy your peek into my colourful little world x

I just finished my first one. They are so delightful. I put little bells on the dangly legs instead of buttons and some lavender inside. These are going to make lovely presents to cheer up some friends. Thank you so much!

Thank you so much for this tutorial, I've had do much fun making them fir family and friends...and they've enjoyed receiving them :-) It's a wonderfully creative idea!!!

Hello, Lucy. Your little bird, as all your creations, is lovely. Some months ago, I crocheted it following your tutorial and it was delicious to make it. I also love to recycle everything and, just yesterday, while glancing at a coffee capsule, I saw it: your little bird made with that coffee cap! And I suddenly made it. As you have been my font of inspiration,it is dedicated to you. A minuscule way to say thank you for sharing your creativity.

Rouva Kiljunen

Hello, ***thank you*** for teaching me to crochet, I'm nearly done with a whole blanket and and Easter birdie for my twine heart is coming along nicely (if a bit wonky) you don't know how much it means to me!

Happily following you from Italy...

Thanks from Italy. I'm going to do it soon and when my blog will be ready I'll put your precious advice. Bye Roby :-)

Lindísimos los pajaritos, muy buen gusto, muchas gracias por las instrucciones

Leelou de France

After the Happy Flower, so lovely in all France !, this bird is so cute !!
Generally, your harmonies of colors are a reference for me. Your blog is a school of colours associations, and so "punchy".
Thank you for sharing all these tutorials !!
(sorry for my bad english...) friendly, Leelou

The bird is the final touch on the Christmas wreath and it is so pretty I think I will have to make flock, I can already see the colours

net window sets

This is so adorable! My granny has been really fed up lately. I think one of these lovely birdies will be ideal to create her grin. Thank you for the amazing guide.

I love, love, love your blog!!! Your patterns are awesome and have inspired me to break out my dusty hooks and push my knitting aside. I've been knitting for 34 years and crocheting for 31 and I sometimes put crocheting on the back burner but you got me excited about it again and for that I thank you! You really should consider publishing, I'd buy your book! And I really love that you take a billion photos because I teach a knitting and crocheting class at my children's school and it is soooo helpful! Thank you, thank you. I will be donating as soon as I can!

Merci infiniment pour ce tuto. Je viens de finir mon oiseau et vais l'offrir à une amie très chère pour ses 44 ans.

Thanks for sharing your pattern. I have just made two of these up as Christmas decorations for my new grandsons.

I am writing you from Ottawa, Canada and am inspired by your blog. Such a cute decoration and well explained.

I think I am going to be very busy making Birds and Baubles for my ladies at the aged care home..I think they will love them .We have an English lady here that is 100yrs old and knits beautifully. But now she would like to try something different ,bless her,and the 90yr old lady is sick of just knitting squares,so she is up for something new and doesn't even wear glasses while she works .
