☀ Tuesday evening ☀
Last night as I was pottering about tidying up a little downstairs, the sky caught my eye and called me outside. The blue up above was dotted with a whole layer of puff-ball cloudlets which looked so pretty and summerish that I had the urge to just leave the house and walk for a while. It was around 8:20 as I walked up the street, along the woodsy path and down the grassy slope to the meadow. Golden buttercups nodding in the golden light, the damp of the evening grass making my toes wet as I walked.
I carried on to the "wild bit" which has been calling me lately, the summer grasses growing taller day by day. Almost 9pm now with the sun sinking slowly out of sight as another day gently draws to a close.
The fairground is setting up in the park ready for the annual Gala and fireworks on Saturday. It's a time full of memories and complex layers of nostalgia, the unmistakable heartbeat of a beautiful, magical early summer.

Thank you for the many years of blogging Lucy! I don't knit or crochet but I quilt used fabrics and I love playing with colour. I live in a very different climate and countryside in another hemisphere and can't travel abroad so I love following your colour play, walks and coffees in counterpoint to my own.

Hi Lucy what a lovely gentle walk and end of the day. I really should do something similar I could see the sunset over at the park across the road but am put off by potential gangs of rowdy teens which I think could be intimidating. I will pluck up the courage and do it one day soon.

So much inspiration and (in an internet way!) you have been a cherished companion for years

Those little white clouds are just delightful to see. And a warm, summery evening by the meadow looks perfect. Xx

Loved your photos on instagram earlier. That new blanket looks totally dreamy. Can’t wait to see it finished and be able to do it. Take care

Lucy I love these photos, lucky you. Only grey clouds in the south east last night and early this morning. But it got better later so we went for a walk round our local lake and saw the swans with 2 cygnets and coots with babies too. The flowers are still lovely all around. Rain forecast for tomorrow, the gardens could do with it.
Sleep well Lucy Best Wishes Linda x
