Call me crazy, but I do love a good storm! The wind whipping about and the rain pounding down, even lightning, and especially thunder. And me, all cozy inside my warm house, listening to it all. Coffee and crochet are doubly pleasurable then. The Saltburn sea looked powerful from your perch on the pier — like the water would wash over it at any moment. What a memorable day you had!

Wonderful Saltburn has a place in my heart too. Loved looking at the photos brought back happy memories.
Would be very interested in where you actually stayed for future reference.

I imagine is was quite stunning, looking over a stormy seascape! Beautiful pictures once again. Debbie x

Thanks for the lovely detailed words and pictures about your trip. Greatly appreciated. Waiting for the 10th Jan (11th in Australia I shouldn’t wonder). Fingers are itching to go.

I forget how nice Saltburn is, despite it being my nearest town! Thank you for the reminder. And it's lovely yarn shop only moved to nearby Stokesley so still available to visit

Jill

Great post Lucy. I don't know Saltburn well .....I discovered it several years ago when visiting its lovely yarn shop, sadly no longer there. Such a beautiful place. The cliff path is certainly a challenge but the views are worth it. I bet it looked spectacular in the storm.

Nice to be cosy with company. Looks like a lovely house you were in.
The wind terrifies me. I live right on the north east coast facing the wild seas in Northumberland, lovely to watch, but when that wind is howling over the roof it's frightening.

Amanda

A stormy but perfect weekend, would love to visit Saltburn one day. We’re on the west coast so maybe one day xx

Koselig, a mix between 'cozy' and the Dutch 'gezellig'. Our languages are so intertwined in Europe. Love to hear you were joined by the boys when the going got tough.
