♥ Another beautiful May day, so unbelievably grateful for this heavenly weather.
♥ A morning of domestic duties with my Dad, followed by a much needed coffee in town and a trip to the toy shop which hasn't changed a jot since the Littles were very small. Purchased a deck of playing cards for £1 and some sherbet because I felt sentimental for the olden days of mothering little Little People.
♥ An afternoon stroll down the lanes to the pub, I just can't get enough of this beautiful garden.
♥ An hour later, a slow amble back up the lane to the caravan. Loving the simple, quiet, rural lifestyle here.
♥ We took my Dad and Lady B out to a pub in town for dinner. I snapped the above photo on our way back to the car afterwards, I love how poppies often self seed and spring up in the most unlikely places.
♥ An impromptu detour to Burton beach on our way back to the caravan. J didn't fancy the sand so stayed up on the low grassy cliff while I went down to the sea with the Little Peeps.
♥ Soothing, calming waves at the end of a slightly tricky day.
♥ I bravely stuck my feet in the shallows and.....it was freeeeezing!
♥ Little B adding pebbles to some rock stacks that we found.
♥ Sitting out in the evenings is one of my favourite things to do here at the caravan, watching the first stars appear just before ten o'clock. It's been clear like this every night, and I can't put into words just how much I appreciate the abundance of sea views I've had this week.
Just a short set of postcards from me today - the past few days have been quite fraught as things with my Dad have taken a lot of my time and energy. I'm so grateful for J and the Little People who have been incredibly supportive and understanding, and we have still managed to spend some wonderful time together despite the difficulties going on in the background. I'm cherishing these precious days with family, we're making lovely memories here and it feels really good.

I have a lodge (fancy name for a bit of a more expensive static caravan) just outside Burton Bradstock. It truly is a gorgeous part of the world. I know that you say that caravans aren’t for everyone, and pre pandemic i would have run a mile. However, love love love it. Was bought in haste, July 2020, but it has been the best thing we did. Our teen loves it too, and is now of an age where she comes down with friends. It is my happy place and full of yarn….. About to become more so too…… Adore the Dune blanket. About to buy the yarn for this! I have been a huge fan of your work and crocheted several of your blankets so far. Crochet was my saviour during lockdown, and has been an obsession. Thank you for your gorgeous patterns and colour combinations.

Oh Lucy, the blue door in the old brick wall reminded me of the story of The Secret Garden (Frances Hodgson Burnett) - wondering what is behind that door ... worthy of a painting, do you think?
What wonderful weather you had for the week away.
Following your story brought back the memories with my lovely Mum, and her journey with dementia. It isn't easy, but you're doing all the right things, and it is good to know that your children have seen their granddad. Memories for them too. Thoughts are with you and Lady B, for just being there for your Dad. Love and virtual hugs, x

I love how you enjoy the 'little' bits of life, the flowers, sky, sea, stars and the joy you get from your family. Dealing with your Dad is so hard but tempered with the joy of being with your family in beautiful Dorset. Sending love and prayers xx

How comforting to have the everlasting simplicity of the sky and shore, the music of the sea and the birds, the feel of the sun on your skin, and the presence of J and your children to buffer the difficulties of dealing with your father's disease. The whole situation is heartbreaking. Hang in there, Lucy. We're there with you in spirit.

Lovely postcards once again! Those blue skies are lovely. Try not to worry too much about your dad. I know it’s not easy, my dad had dementia. Enjoy the final days of your holiday. The “little ones” will have lovely memories of the gorgeous weather, the caravan and spending time with you. What a gorgeous break for you all. Hugsx

I'm so glad the weather has been kind for you, making the fragility of your trip down south easier for you and family. I've also loved tagging along to places you know well & I don't, although I have been to Dorset and through it at different times. Enjoy the rest of your time there & hugs from down under.
