♥️ Hellooooo!!!! Day 3 of Blogtober and I have to say I am enjoying being here so very, very much! Thank you for your comments and encouragement, it's much appreciated. Today I thought I'd share some little snippets from my week which are basically simple, unedited snapshots taken on my phone. I hope you enjoy the peek into my ordinary every day life....
♥️ This week J and I walked in the woods almost every day, no matter what the weather. Usually around 11am when he would have a lull in his working day we would take an hour out to get some exercise and fresh air.
♥️ Even on dull, grey days I appreciate the beauty of this historic little rural market town that I call home. I always stop at the top of this hill to take it all in and practice some in-the-moment gratitude.
♥️ One of my favourite places to sit during the day is in the Big Chair tucked in the nook of the bay window. Of course Tilly likes to think that it's her chair, and she will occasionally allow me to squeeze in if she's feeling very sleepy and doesn't want to move!
♥️ This was taken last Saturday morning, a bright and beautiful start to the weekend. It couldn't be more different today - we still walked along this street to visit the market but it was cold and raining and not nearly so picturesque.
♥️ Wednesday morning quick coffee stop on my way home from the school run. So good! This café describes it's coffee as "outrageously good" and I have to absolutely agree with them. It really is.
♥️ Thursday morning saw us blanketed in a thick, dense fog, it was like walking through cloud!
♥️ I spotted quite a few spiders webs decorated with miniscule water droplets - one of the most beautiful things about a very foggy start to the day.
♥️ I extended my damp walk home from the shops to head through the park, just to marvel at the very foggy fogginess of the day. The woods at the top of the park were completely hidden, it was more than a little bit eerie.
♥️ This is what happens when I get to the Big Chair before Tilly! Not that I mind of course, the warmth and weight of a soundly sleeping kitty on your lap is one the most comforting things I know.
♥️ Another snap from one of our daily woodland walks - this was on Wednesday I think. I really enjoy having this hour out with J, we chatter about all sorts of things, sometimes tripping down memory lane and sometimes just catching up with the comings and goings of our days. We've been walking together for twenty seven years, hard to believe it's been that long.
♥️ I spotted these glorious sunflowers as I walked home from town yesterday afternoon and had to stop to take a photo. They must be ten feet tall at least, aren't they fabulous? I hope that whoever planted them knows how much they are appreciated.
And that's all from me today, I hope that your week has been full of happy little snippets, however ordinary they might seem, life is precious - every single minute of it.

I’ve been reading your daily October blog and somehow missed this one...I’m trying to figure out what the low blue structure is with flower pots atop. My husband and I also take daily walks together now that he’s working from home these past 7 months. I appreciate and look forward to your blogs.

I truly love the area I live in, but my oh my, the old buildings and your walks through the woods are so much better. The horse is amazing and I like the sunflowers too.

Lovely snippets Lucy. Adore the sunflowers in the last shot. Super pretty!!! And oh how I would like to join your walks in the woods. Looks wonderful. Have lovely week! I think these snippet blog posts are my favourites. I love seeing coffee cups and prettiness of all kind from an ordinary day. Thanks for sharing.

You can collect pretty spiderwebs wet with dew with a dark construction paper from behind, touching it, then dusting with flour to stick to wet dew marks. Try it with a little one.

Really enjoying your postings. You are so fortunate to live in such a wonderful part of the world. North East London isn't quite the same. I'm enjoying autumn crafts and making a wreath inspired by yours. I'm teaching myself to crochet as I go along. Aiming to make one for each season. Xx

Really enjoying your daily blogs. Autumn is always such a feast of colour before all the greys of winter. My husband and I walk a lot too - it is a lovely way to keep connected. Xx

Why don't you pop a notelet through their door and let them know how much their sunflowers lift you when you walk past their house? They would remember that anonymous note for the rest of their lives.

You live in a place where I can simply wish to travel to someday. So glad you enjoy and appreciate the wonder of it as much as you do! p.s. Tilly is my Scotchie's twin sister across the seas!

Thanks for letting us peek into your world. Tilly reminds me of our late cat who enjoyed laps so much. The canal photos bring back so many memories of strolling along the Leeds/Liverpool canal on our wonderful holidays there, which may never happen again. Take care, stay safe & hugs from down under.

What a lovely life! The beautiful scenery, the Big Chair, the coffee! Thanks for letting us join you! I had a month when I tried to post every day. I think it went well. It is too late for me, and I am too lazy to commit to every day, but I might try to post more often this month.

What a lovely warm post. You do live in a pretty corner of the world and I really like the look of the cafe. Walks are the best aren't they, really good for the soul and the brain I think. Hope you're having a good weekend. CJ xx

Welcome Back! It took me several days to discover that you were posting again. As usual your photos are nicely done and so fun to look at. I especially like that pic of the boat with the flowers spaced on top! Lovely!

Love your posts, the photos of the idyllic place in which you live, and your reminder to practice being in the moment and full of gratitude. Now I have to get back to my Woodland blanket -- what a perfect choice of project for this autumn time of year.

I love seeing pictures of your beautiful little town. And I'm always happy to see the twig sculptures have survived. How do they stay in such fine condition, I wonder? Are there caretakers, or does the artist visit them to make sure they're well?
