About Me

  • Hello! Thank you so much for visiting me in the Attic, it's lovely to see you. My name is Lucy and I'm a happily married Mum with three children. We live in a cosy terraced house on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales in England which we are slowly renovating and making home. I have a passion for crochet and colour and love to share my creative journey. I hope you enjoy your peek into my colourful little world x

So glad to see you back! Anytime we hear from you is a good time.

So very good to hear from you. I thought there was something wrong but didn’t want to bother you. I think in these strange days ( still strange after all these months) , we all worry when we don’t hear from people we care about. Good to know you are safe.I hoped/ knew you would post one day. Take care and look after yourself.

So lovely to hear from you again Lucy. Glad you are well and look forward to hearing from you again soon, when you are ready. Take care and very best wishes.

Hello Lucy, Very glad to see you back. Looking forward to more blogging when you are able.

Lynne Mold

Really happy to hear from you again! I have been looking for your post very frequently. Life is so odd at the moment that I believe most of us struggle at some time. I do hope you are feeling positive and can see a way forward. Hard some days, I know.

Oh, good. I have been a follower for several years now (from the states, Virginia) and I’ve never commented, but always am inspired and look forward to your posts and I admit, what with COVID I was wondering and hoping all was well. Thanks for letting us know! :)

Good morning Lucy. I have missed you very much. Feeling so happy that you are well. I love that you listened to your heart and chose to trust your intuition to stay quiet for a while. With love and friendship from Norma

I was so excited to hear from you again. Myself and many others have been concerned. I think that most of us have been under a rock. I hope that we can come outside soon to smell the earth! please be safe!!!

Lucy, isn't it a really lovely feeling of sorority and love you get when you read the comments and greetings sent to you? I felt hugged as well, as I felt I'm part of this invisible net linking us. Thanks to you dear blog friend! My life is so much colorful even though these times are difficult. This pandemia came at the right moment to let us listen more to our inner thoughts and get comfort from sharing. So glad you and yours are alright.
Sending you love from embattled Brazil - better days will come for all of us...
Take care.

Glad to hear you are alright. I missed hearing from you and was getting concerned, keep smiling through xx

So happy to know that you and yours are still ok. Your job is not to please me, keep me entertained, share with me your travels and walks, nor to help my coffee go down in the morning - BUT you do all that for me. If it were to stop today, I would still be a richer person for your posts. Know that you are like a friend that I care about deeply and want what is best for you, even when it means less for me. Take care of you and yours first! Love, Mary

Welcome back! Such strange times! Glad to see you back here and looking forward to hearing how you’ve been getting on xx

I’m SO looking forward to the Aria blanket pack and excited to hear all about the name and the inspiration behind it. I got very excited when I saw your instagram post of a striped sample as I LOVE a long repetitive stripe, it’s so relaxing and satisfying to make

I started learning to crochet in December 2018 so I could join your Sweet Pea crochet in the January. I needed a HUGE challenge to give myself a rest from thinking about my nest emptying after 24 years of parenting and worry over seriously ill parents....I’d never crocheted before at all....I am now ‘hooked’ and just finishing my third Attic 24 blanket (the dahlia) this week. Your instructions and pictures are so detailed and patient and clear and most of all made it seem so happy.

I guess I just want to let you have had such a big positive impact on so many people xxx I know that you understand what a joyful difference crochet makes to life so thank you xx

Hello Lucy It is lovely to see your new blog and know you are having a quite time and have not been unwell. We all need space and time to pull our thoughts together. I look forward to all your news and your lovely photos when you feel ready to write your blog again plus any news on your crochet projects. Hope you and your family are ok Lucy. Stay safe. Best wishes Marjorie xx

Lucy, it is good to have you back and I so missed you. I love your creativity, the lovely pictures of your walks and town. The peaceful sharing. Hope all is well.

Hi Lucy, I've been popping in almost daily and getting more and more worried when there was no news from you. So glad that you are OK and getting back to your normal self. Your little natterings are uplifting, thought-provoking and enjoyable, thank you for them all! I really look forward to reading them. Keep well, keep safe and take care of yourself. X

So glad to hear from you Lucy and that you are safe and well. I as many more have been drifting through the days since regrettably being furloughed, such strange unsettling times. Crocheting your blankets has kept me sane, many thanks Lucy.

Wishing you and your loved ones well.

coucou lucy

quel bonheur de vous lire de nouveau
meme si c'est tres court !!!
je ne sais par quels moments difficiles vous passez
mais sachez que je suis de tout coeur avec vous
la vie est loin d'etre facile....

So good to see you back. Take care xx

So lovely to see a post from you. I know what you mean about the days drifting by, it's been the same here, although currently madly busy. I'm glad the thinking has been cathartic. It's much the same here to be honest. A time of change, as the children grow and need me less but still need direction and as I look at my goals and aims for the future. Wishing you happiness, CJ xx

Thank goodness you are okay Lucy, I found myself popping in each day to see if you'd blogged!! I searched high and low for some direct way of messaging you too!! I'm glad you've found a bit more of you, this time has definitely brought up lots of different emotions and realisations. I don't think you'll be alone in feeling the need to share. Much love 💕🌻🌹🍰🌄
