About Me

  • Hello! Thank you so much for visiting me in the Attic, it's lovely to see you. My name is Lucy and I'm a happily married Mum with three children. We live in a cosy terraced house on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales in England which we are slowly renovating and making home. I have a passion for crochet and colour and love to share my creative journey. I hope you enjoy your peek into my colourful little world x

There are no words to show my appreciation, thanks you!!

I love the sunflower one and could see a rainbow stem for it. I look forward to seeing them all finished. I'm still working away on a hexagon blanket at the moment

I second you on the Moogly Alphabets! Tamara did an amazing job with those and I have used them many many times to spell out baby names and holiday greetings on crochet buntings, blankets and loads of other hooky gifts. Cheers to Moogly Alphabets!

I like your stripe creations and the lamp post wraps and how you use them multiple times.

This is wonderful! I love the idea of yarn bombing the posts!! The white letters look so great against the bright stripes!

I love the sunflower! So pretty!

Kathryn Ashe

It was a treat to see the smiling faces of your friends. What a happy day you had ❤.

Gorgeous hooky therapy! I love the sunflower one and could see a rainbow stem for it. I look forward to seeing them all finished. I'm still working away on a hexagon blanket at the moment, it's becoming very hot to work under even in air conditioning, but needs must. (A gift that has to be finished soon.)lol Have a fab weekend! xxxxxxxxxx

I'm going to Yarndale again! I can't wait to see these cutesy things on the lampposts again. And to wave at you and Christine as I run past! (I know you're always busy on the days!)
I love the sunflower one... I'll definitely be looking out for that one!

I was at Mackie Mayor's for the first time on Wednesday - amazing coffee and a raspberry and rose chocolate brownie, a good way to start the day!

The white Yarndale really pops against the colorful stripes! I thought the colors would have overtaken the white but it is bright and clear. Looks like you were really having a nice time.

This is great! We beautify my city St.Paul,MN with
Yarn in the winter&summer. A group effort and so much fun.

Lovely. I would so enjoy Yarndale and all that it involves but it is a big ocean between Florida and Skipton.

Do you need some help creating more lamp post wrappings :-)?

its always lovely to see the wraps up and around for Yarndale weekend. I look forward to trying to spot them this year.

Jenny Melville

Lucy! These are so lovely! You’re beautiful designs never fail to take my breath away! This year I’ll be able to see them up close as I’m travelling from Sydney, Australia to attend my very first Yarndale! I’m just a bit excited!

Tuula Maaria

I love the colourful banner!

All sooo gorgeous and wonderfully inspiring as ever. Thank you Lucy xTracey in KZN, South Africa

Bravo on your rainbow banner.. the letters are perfect! You really are a very precise craftswoman.. all your finished projects are so even and tidy. I look forward to seeing the finished sunflower banner.
((hugs)), Teresa :-)

Reason 2055 I wish I lived in the UK— Yarndale! Love the signs!!!

That sunflower is gorgeous. And yes, the blues are lovely. There's nothing quite as calming as lots of shades of blue. I'm impressed with how carefully the lamp post wraps are hand-stitched into place. The time and trouble taken over everything is wonderful. All of life should be like this! CJ xx

They are all looking fab. Can't wait to see the finished items

Colorful stripes and sunflowers!!! What a happy post. I haven't crocheted a single stitch in several weeks. Could it have something to do with the calico kitten I adopted last month??? But this post makes me need to get hooking again!!

Hooks and Needles

They look great Lucy, I suppose like many people I'd assumed that afterwards the wraps stayed there. I'm glad you go back and collect them. All that work and so individually done. I'm off to Yardale this year and hope to see the many things that you talk about. All the best, Cx
