About Me

  • Hello! Thank you so much for visiting me in the Attic, it's lovely to see you. My name is Lucy and I'm a happily married Mum with three children. We live in a cosy terraced house on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales in England which we are slowly renovating and making home. I have a passion for crochet and colour and love to share my creative journey. I hope you enjoy your peek into my colourful little world x

Anytime I need a 'pick-me-up', I read Lucy's wonderful posts and admire her photos. Thank you Lucy for this wonderful story and pics!

It is so good to treasure these happy times. My beautiful children have left the nest but my memories are so precious. I am lucky to be reliving them with 7 wonderful grandsons. Enjoy these happy days Lucy x x x

Beautiful pictures! You are so wise to take Little B's hand and say nothing...just storing it up in your heart. Our youngest just finished his first year of college...the empty nest has been more challenging than we expected. The children are all doing great and we get to see them often...but it isn't the same. Enjoy these precious times and store up those memories. Thank you for sharing with us.

Please tell us a little bit about what your Teens are u

A lovely story about you and little B walking each evening, it did pull on the heart strings. And as I cried at the lovely music in that chapel last Saturday, thinking my husband would have enjoyed it so much, I forgot that the 18th May was the anniversary of your Mum's death too. Sad times but lots of happy memories.

Thank you for sharing it with us!!

So beautifully expressed! Every step of the way, we cherish our children’s development, and every stride forward holds a tiny stab of anxiety for us mums. My eldest son is decorating his first flat, and will be moving in any day now...my youngest is about to make his first international flight alone and unaccompanied from origin to final destination. Negotiating Heathrow alone: yikes! How brave and independent and all grown up; my boys are now young men. I’m so very proud of them and secretly just a teeny tiny bit nostalgic for my little lads.

Charlotte.

Special memories.

Lucy, you lift my spirit, so honest and true. My grandchildren are 9,6, and 3 and I can so empathise with your reflections. On to crochet and colour and you inspire me. They all now have blankets and I belong to Thirsk yarn bombers and am learning all the time. Hoping to come to Yarndale this year. Xx

Tineke

Tears in my eyes. I so recognise this. Good to know you feel this bond.
