About Me

  • Thank you so much for visiting me in the Attic, it's lovely to see you. My name is Lucy and I'm a happily married Mum with three children. We live in a cosy terraced house on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales in England which we are slowly renovating and making home. I have a passion for crochet and colour and love to share my creative journey. I hope you enjoy your peek into my colourful little world x

This colorful shawl made me think of you :) https://www.garnstudio.com/pattern.php?id=7641&cid=19
Please, design one for this winter. That would be so great.

Joon Flowers

Thanks for all the tutorials, particularly the mandalas. I have one on the wall opposite to where I'm sitting right now.

While you were away ... I voted for you in the Knitting and Crochet awards.

I’m new to your crochet community, just finished my woodland blanket and I’m so pleased. I’m a relatively new to crochet, so it’s not perfect but beautiful and bright for for drab Oregon winter days. I’m looking forward to starting a new project, as I find the pictures beautiful and so easy to follow. I too recently distributed my mom’s ashes, in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, and in the town where she was born and raised in Nebraska. It gave me wonderful closure and we felt we honored her well. I trust this will be the same for you.

Wishing that your trip to Dorset will be everything that you need it to be. I made your Artisan Bread today and it may have been a mistake. We LOVE it. Lol

Have a nice break in Dorset!
As you are crocheting a felted bag, maybe you can knit a pair of felted mittens for this winter https://www.garnstudio.com/pattern.php?id=7561&cid=19

Wendy

Enjoy your time away. It will be good for your soul.

Hope your trip is restful and peaceful and filled with lots of toe wiggling in the sand. xxoo

I hear you. I get it. I've done the exactly same thing over here... One year... I can only imagine the emotional roller coaster getting into swing. Take you time. Enjoy the train ride seeing the beautiful country side flash by the window. I always find that to be healing and fulfilling. And to be honest. time alone is precious for a Mum of three. Breath deep and just be you.

“I need to be where my heart is pulling me.” I have been feeling exactly that for awhile now (for many reasons), and just haven’t been able to articulate it, but you just have. I get it.
My heart goes out to you during this difficult time. I hope you find rest for your body, and peace for your mind and heart while in Dorset.
Blessings....xxxx

Wendy

Hugs Lucy and have a nice break xo

Ok Lucy, ten years last Sunday since my husband died and not long after when you taught me to crochet!I wouldn't have done it without you and I think of you -and our meeting - often. Learning to crochet at that awful time in my life brought me great solace, as you know, and still does. Where did those ten years go?? Feeling a bit chilly last night after an enjoyable evening in Chester Grosvenor Park watching Much Ado About Nothing in the open air theatre- I changed to my granny stripe 'Winter' blanket on my bed and put aside ('for the wash' my coastal stripe Summer version!)Lots of love and thanks as ever. Have a lovely break. xx

Have a quiet, thought provoking time while you are near the sea. Every year since my mom died I find a quiet place to remember her and her wonderful mothering. I will "hold space" for you while you are away. xxoojill

I am slowly reading all posts of this lovely blog of yours starting ...well from the start so I feel a bit like an intruder!I am very much enjoying your writing style and your crochet creations as I have a real love for crochet myself. I also have 3 children same age like yours and reading your blog has brought back memories from when they were growing up.Of course they are teenagers now like your children and oh! the beauty of this age but also the struggles. Memory eternal to your mother. It seems like it's going to be a soul searching travel so I wish it will be a peaceful one!

God be with you as you go and remember and think of your mum.
I hope the sea air is as invigorating as possible.

Take care my dear girl. Do what you need to for you. We have all been there in different ways. You are good to realize you need this and it's a blessing that your family understands.
Safe journeys Lucy.

Emily
