About Me

  • Hello! Thank you so much for visiting me in the Attic, it's lovely to see you. My name is Lucy and I'm a happily married Mum with three children. We live in a cosy terraced house on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales in England which we are slowly renovating and making home. I have a passion for crochet and colour and love to share my creative journey. I hope you enjoy your peek into my colourful little world x

Your pictures were a welcome and beautiful peak at spring! Thanks for posting them and that colorful pastel blanket is like a peak into heaven through a hazy white cloud - simply gorgeous! Glad your over the hump and speedy full recovery, soon!

Jill

So nice to have you back! Hope the iron and other things do their job and that you are your usual chipper self soon.I'm impressed that you still took photos and worked on projects when you were feeling low. The photos are beautiful and I know we're all looking forward to bluebells. Be sure to tell us about the little house on the block that says home when you get a chance. Don't rush.

Hi , glad you are on the mend, everyone has down days. I had to take iron three times a week for four months at four hours each time through an IV, no fun but I felt better. Love your pictures, sometimes s picture is worth a thousand words soooo I wouldn't worry about not writing. Take care of yourself and have a God filled life. Love hugs and prayers from Miss Daisy from South Carolina.

Hi Lucy, great to hear things are on the up. I've recently had to admit to myself that it's okay to not be okay and to just let the day unfold some days, hoping the brighter evenings bring you joy. Keep doing a little of what you fancy. Hugs from across the Pennines, Gez xxx

Hello Lucy, so glad you're starting to feel better. You have my sincere sympathies, I suffered from iron deficiency for years and the grey fug it put you into is horrible. I finally got a diagnosis of B12 deficiency, apparently some people find their bodies can no longer absorb B12 from their diet and it has a huge knock on effect on the amount of iron your body can absorb and so you end up becoming anaemic. Have you spoken to your doctor about that possibility, it's definitely worth getting it checked out as it's usually a simple remedy of B12 injections every four months or so.
Love the multiple blanket pic - crocheting hard to emulate it lol. Take care xx

Marijke

So glad to see you back! In spite of everything, your photographs still have the same old warm and cheerful vibe. Take your time.

Christina

Welcome back Lucy. Spring had sprung in more ways than one, it would seem. I've been on an iron/SAD low for a few months now and I'm slowly coming out of it too. It's exhausting but a good feeling when you can see the light (and the sun). Good luck getting back on your Spring Feet. Love, Christina (Sussex)

So pleased to hear you are recovering Lucy, I suspected you were unwell, so didn't send any enquiry about your absence. It goes without saying, as others have said before me, you have been missed. Take care, listen to your body and do what is necessary to regain your usual strength. Love from Annette x

Brenda

Hi Lucy! I've been following your blog for a couple of years now and always look forward to checking in on you in the attic. The absence of your lovely photos and cheery words made me think something was up. So glad to hear that you are on the road to recovery, just take everything one day at a time. Thank you for all the wonderful tutorials and photos you have shared, they have been an inspiration. Brenda x

Sally-Jane

It's lovely to hear that you're feeling better again.
I love seeing your colourful photos that bring me as much joy as they bring you. Your blog reminds me that we should all take much joy from all the little things around us, the emergence of new life and colour. The tiny things matter as much as the big important things in life.

Heather Tucker

Get well soon Lucy and at your own pace! No pressure from us! Just to let you know you have been missed X
