About Me

  • Hello! Thank you so much for visiting me in the Attic, it's lovely to see you. My name is Lucy and I'm a happily married Mum with three children. We live in a cosy terraced house on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales in England which we are slowly renovating and making home. I have a passion for crochet and colour and love to share my creative journey. I hope you enjoy your peek into my colourful little world x

This was so exciting to read, Lucy! Like so many of your readers, I did vote, for you and for Yarndale, and it was a thrill to see that you had won three firsts! All so well deserved, too. I spent last winter in Tacoma, WA, in a travel trailer belonging to a friend I hadn't seen for about 30 years. She wanted to begin knitting and crocheting again and I was able to get her started. She has two of the cosy stripe blankets in progress and I started a hydrangea blanket for her to work on once the others are done. The hydrangea stitch is the easiest ever and it looks so lovely and really as if it might be difficult. We both love it!

How nice that you had time with your friends in London, too, especially for your birthday. AND a bottle of champagne! Congratulations and thanks for all the lovely patterns. You deserve every award and more.

I'm looking forward to your post about that flower or whatever it is, too. And thanks for the links. I'll be checking them out, too. Hugs from chilly BC. ~ Linne

Congratulations Lucy! I was so happy to read that you were recognized for what you unselfishly bring to the world of crochet! Thank you for sharing your creativity and your love of color. You are an inspiration!

Congratulations Lucy! I really enjoy your blog.

Congrates. You should be so proud. I thoroughly enjoy reading your blog and getting inspired.

Congratulations from across the pond, Lucy! I rarely comment, but I do so appreciate your creativity and your generosity in sharing your life and work with us. My friend, Teresa Kasner, started the We Love Lucy group over here to honor the inspiration you are to so many...even across the pond. Thank you so much for sharing with us. xx

Well done, Lucy!!!

Sounds like a fun weekend. Regarding the mixed feelings about big cities like London and the buzzy energy which is stimulating yet takes it out of you after a bit, I totally get that. And I am London born and bred. I live in a fairly green area in zone 3, so not in the centre, but after spending time out in a smaller town for a year noticed even my suburb felt much more buzzy, somehow. And I find Central London interesting, but quite tiring.

Wow Lucy, What an exciting time you are having, and such well deserved awards! Well done!
I am new to your website/blog but I am enjoying it so much especially as I visit Skipton at least twice a week and I know all the places you talk about and love Your descriptions.
I am excited because although I am new to your website, I knew deep down that it was only a matter of time before I would have the pleasure of seeing you......and yes, today as we walked along the canal after visiting the park, I saw your very familiar face .I was dying to say hello, but shyness and respect for your privacy prevented me from interrupting your time with your young son.
Surfice to say, it made my day, and it was lovely just to share a smile with you.
I have started crocheting again this year and thoroughly enjoyed making two of your cosy stripe blankets ( one for my lovely grand daughter). I love your blog, and share a love of Dorset and Devon. Thank you so much for re kindling my interest, and well done for all you do. Sorry for the long post but it was such an exciting moment to see you in person. I love Coopers also and pop in for a coffee when I can.
