About Me

  • Thank you so much for visiting me in the Attic, it's lovely to see you. My name is Lucy and I'm a happily married Mum with three children. We live in a cosy terraced house on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales in England which we are slowly renovating and making home. I have a passion for crochet and colour and love to share my creative journey. I hope you enjoy your peek into my colourful little world x

Happy blogiversary! I know I didn't "find" you 9 years ago, but I certainly have enjoyed the years since then. Thanks for naming the ranuculus for us - a new flower for me. Does it have a fragrance?

I think I began reading your blog in 2008 about the time you began your bathroom redo. I've read every post since then! Thank you so much for writing about flowers, walks, blankets, colors, caravans, children and everything else. If I could move to Yorkshire (along with my husband, children and grandchildren) I would do it in a heartbeat! Since I can't, your blog is my connection to a world and country I love. Thank you for sharing your life with us.

I probably visit your blog daily! I adore looking at all the old post. "Oooing" and "arrrrrring" at all the lovely pictures and being inspired by all the colours. I ADORE colour! Thank you for taking the time to keep the blog up to date. Its my little happy place 💖

Congratulations on your blog. I've enjoyed reading it for about the last 6 years and plan to continue. Your photos are lovely as well!

Here's to another ten and beyond!xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Happy blogging birthday
The reason I love your blog - apart from all the crochet loveliness- is that you take pleasure in the small things in life. I love your delight in a nice walk or a Danish pastry because I am a lover of small things too.
I never knew the name for ranunculus until now although I have often seen them
Lots of love Louise xx

Yay! I'm glad you keep blogging, Lucy! I like to shoot photos of flowers, too. Flowers forever!

CHALLENGE: crochet a ranunculus? Love reading your stuff. My moorland blanket is in its final stages.....

Whoop Whoop, happy birthday! You have been blogging for as long as my daughter has been born! Can't believe it!Here's to many more fantastic hooky years.
I've mentioned before how you were the 'penny that dropped'for me, when it came to me 'getting' crochet. You ignited a new creative flame in me Lucy, and made me discover colour, and for that, I shall be eternally grateful. (My husband may disagree - ha ha). I wish you a very happy day, full of colour and fun

Happy Blog-a-Versary Lucy! Your blog has changed your life and also mine! It has been a lifesaver in many ways on many occasions. May you blog for many a long year!

Dear dear Lucy, we have all gained from your beautiful blog. We have gained because you are so refreshing, inspiring, down to earth, generous, and so utterly lovely! The crochet journey has been informative, educational, motivational, and exciting. Your observations on modern family life are heart warming, positive yet honest. I personally never feel anything other than admiration and gratitude to you for sharing such a simple but nonetheless important role in the blogging scene. My own crochet journey has been revived beyond measure when I first found your blog, so thank you, thank you Lucy. Sending you more flowers so to speak! Janette Surtees.
