We are on our half term break this week, and it feels rather great. We are spending our days mostly indoors, relaxing, taking it easy. The Little People were all so tired at the end of last week, so we are relishing these gentle days at home where not a lot happens. Recharging our batteries and taking a break from the routine of school and work.
I've been lounging and loafing, loving being at home with the family really. Early mornings sat in bed reading, drinking coffee, crocheting, chatting with J. Late breakfasts, mid morning coffees and toasted hot cross buns. Leisurely afternoons with the fire lit, a glass of something chilled and bubbly, some sock knitting and new blanket making (oh my Hydrangea blanket, it is giving me palpitations!). A little bit of fresh air when needed, short local walks in cold wintry landscapes.
I finished my Moorland Blanket today, the final stitch darned into the edge of The Edge. I wrote up the full tutorial for the edging and composed my CAL post ready for Friday. It's been quite a lot of work to squeeze into a day filled with Little People and a persistent kitty, and I have such mixed feelings about it all - I'm so very, very happy with my blanket, but so so sad that the crochet-a-long has come to an end. I have loved doing it, and I shall miss it.
Tomorrow (Wednesday) I am flying away for a few days, heading south. I'm not going far, just down to Dorset to catch up with my brother and visit my folks. I am so looking forward to a few days away, a bit of a stint by the coast and some family time.
The tutorial and Part 7 of the Moorland CAL will be here on my blog on Friday morning, all being well. I'll still be in Dorset then, but I'm going to attempt to set a timer on the posts so that they will magically appear at 9am on Friday morning, I hope I'm up to the job!
I shall throw a pebble or two in the English Channel and send out some ripples of happiness to you all....

I wish Winters in Texas were this wintery! Was really warm today & gonna be 88F/31C tomorrow. Isn't that even warmer than yall's Spring!? Lol Anyway, am drooling over Moorland and ready with my yarn packs!!! But have my first grandchild for my oldest daughter of ten of my own coming soon..... gotta finish the blankie for her baby, so excited!! & now talk of hydrangeas 💜💚💙💚💗💚 REALLY!?
Ohmygoodness & yay!!! They are my favourites. So desperate, I actually planted some in my garden last Summer... Needless to say, they turn into CrispyKritters in the Texas Hill Country Sun! Cannot wait to see it. Thanks for you lovely blog! I never comment on blogs, actually rarely read them. Yours is so refreshingly sweet💞

As always, Lucy, your blog is a treat to read! Thank you so much for all the work you put in on our behalf, you are creative to the Nth degree, and we appreciate it! Enjoy your little break away with family, taking the Hydrangea blanket with you, I presume. Many congratulations and kudos to you on your awards, well deserved I believe.

Enjoy your break with family. If you see my Auntie Dawn, say hello for me. Lol I'm still on week one. Don't get a lot of spare time to crochet and quiet time, which I need to do it. Roll on 2018 Yarndale, planning a trip to UK again. Will come say hello again. Jackie Perth Australia

I love that I have visited the Dorset Coast twice now...2 Summer's in a row really so I can picture what you will be seeing. I have to say that the color of the water there is something to behold.
I was in Bellingham, Washington this past weekend and the light was hitting the bay just right and I turned to my husband and said....that is what the water looks like when I've been to Swanage and the area around it. Just breathtaking!
Enjoy you time and yes please throw a pebble in for me :-)

Such a lovely blog. Brought back memories of when my children were still at school. I so enjoyed having them at home so that we could spend relaxed time together. I can't crochet (I'm going to try this year), but am currently knitting socks which are just the best to knit and also wear 😀. Enjoy Dorset, nothing like sea air.

I am rushing to catch up with the CAL due to my own very little person taking up a lot of my time. I have loved this CAL, it has been just the tonic I have needed at this hectic time. Thank you.
