It's taken me many hours to compile these monthly mosaics as I got ridiculously distracted along the way - I found myself meandering down memory lane, and it has been a very happy stroll indeed. Two thousand and sixteen was a pretty full and busy year for me, and truthfully it hasn't been the easiest twelve months. At the start of the year I struggled health wise when I discovered I was anemic, and it took a good four months before I felt my normal self begin to return. But despite the rocky start, 2016 was a year of great contentment and fulfillment for me as I pootled through my weeks, juggling family life with my Yarndale commitments and my enduring crochet obsession.
We enjoyed some really lovely holidays last year, including two visits to Dorset, a glorious Summer week in Northumberland, two short stays in St Annes, and a long weekend in October where J and I escaped to the coast just the two of us. Those coastal visits were so precious, but really nothing compares to the joy of simple days spent at home.
One of the highlights of 2016 was the arrival of our kitten Tilly. She came to us in July, a ten week old cutesome bundle of kitty energy. Being a tortoiseshell, she has a huge personality (ever heard of Tortitude??) and she has certainly made herself at home with us here in the Attic.
Attic24 will be nine years old in March, and this is my ninth yearly review. It's hard to put into words how much I love creating my blog, and how amazing it is to be a part of this kind, caring and creative community. Thank you so much for joining me as I journey through my days, I appreciate your company more than I can say.

ps if you are still in need of a colour fix, there is an abundance of it in my previous reviews!

Your writing, ideas, and photographs are a bright spot in my week, Lucy. Thank you for your dedication to blogging. I love seeing the world through your colorful perspective :-)
Also, I have a tortie, too. She was called Tussa when I inherited her, but sometimes I call her "Tussa La Fussa" because she is very talk-a-tive and fusses a lot. She's my little darling cat, though.
God Bless,
Amy

I have been reading your blog for 6 years and I wanted to tell you how wonderful it is. I was suffering from depression when I first found your blog, the wonderful color and cheerfulness helped me to step outside myself and start healing. I find myself scrolling through and looking at pictures as a calming antidote to a tough day.
ps. I second the vote for cards or posters. I have thought several times that a picture on your blog would look great blown up, mounted to a weathered plank and hung on a wall.

Wow, time well spent on your beautiful collages. They are absolutely stunning. I particularly love the summer. May, June and August are especially lovely, especially that stream with the green reflections in it and that huge seascape. Glorious. I'm wishing you a wonderful year and many more happy memories.
