♥ Crocheting some Spring Leaves to adorn the jug of bare twigs on my mantel. I'm using Stylecraft Classique Cotton DK which is great for little decorative projects like this - I'll be sharing this leaf pattern on my blog next week.
♥ The most beautiful bunch of flowers arrived on my doorstep this week, a complete surprise from a lovely friend.
♥ Fresh flowers and bright colours are two of my Life Essentials, food for the heart and soul.
♥ Continuously inspired by the colours and patterns provided by Mother Nature. Just w-o-w.
♥ A humble bunch of daffodils on my table this week, so delicate and pretty.
♥ I wish you could put your face gently to your screen and inhale the scent of these flowers, they smell divine.
♥ I got over my fear of yarn-in-a-skein and hand wound this ball of sock yarn at the weekend. These colours have me dreaming of green fields and sea breezes.
♥ Sunny colours on my bed make me smile so many times a day. This log cabin blanket is one of my all time favourite makes.
♥ I'm busy writing up the tutorial for this lovely linen stitch border, and putting together a very pretty ta-dah post for my Cupcake Stripe blanket. All will be revealed on Monday morning, and I am sooooooooooooooooooooooooo excited to share it all with you!
Have a wonderful weekend my lovelies, I hope your days are filled with colours that make your heart and soul happy...

You take such wonderful photos of your life, Lucy. Are you able to say what the blue/green sock yarn is? It looks like a pair of socks I'd like to try knitting (you've inspired me with your sock knitting adventures).

Hi ! I don't know if you read your comments, but I have something to tell you. I'm a french crocheter (sorry for my english.)and I love your blog, but this saturday afternoon I was at a "Fabric festival" (?not sure : "Salon du tissu" ?.. ) and how surprised I was to recognise a picture printed on a fabric : a picture of your Happy Flower Decoration ( http://attic24.typepad.com/weblog/happy-flower-decoration.html ) I wanted to make sure that you are aware of the commercial use of your picture... Are you ? (I took a picture of this fabric if you need it, but I don't know the name of the brand or designer of this fabric unfortunately. )
You can contact me via my email address if you need.

No wonder you smile at that blanket it's gorgeous.
My lace shawl wool always comes in hanks. Winding wool by hand takes me back to when I was young when wool always came in hanks. My Mam & I used to take turns one holding the hank between their hand & the other winding both of us chatting. Happy memories!

Pretty colours, just what's needed on a cold, wet, sleety morning....loving that edging, they make such a difference to a blanket don't they?

Have just bought myself a ball winder £9.99 and the cheapest swift thingie £18 on amazon because I have got 2 skeins of ultra fine alpaca/silk to knit a special shawl for my sisters 50th birthday. The yarn is so delicate I didn't trust myself winding it by hand.
The swift and winder are a revelation. It's such fun to do. And so satisfying to have a perfect yarn cake.
Wish I'd got one years ago.
Can't wait for the blanket ta dah. Xx

I think you would enjoy using a skein wound with a nostepinne (a bit like a short length of a broom handle). It would give you a very evenly wound ball of yarn that pulls from the centre.

What a colorful and happy post! What a wonderful bouquet you received.. how nice! I don't think I told you but your button pitcher inspired me so that I searched many times for one and finally found one. I think I'll pick a bouquet of lilacs from my yard today and put them in my button jug. You continue to inspire me. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

Your log cabin blanket is divine, just love the pattern and the colours. Really beautiful. The flowers are exquisite too and I just adore the rose in particular. Wish you had the name if it as I would love to grow it. Each of my grandchildren has requested a blanket. I am trying to work my way through crocheting the first which comprises 48 squares - hope I live long enough!! Thanks for your great blog.
