About Me

  • Hello! Thank you so much for visiting me in the Attic, it's lovely to see you. My name is Lucy and I'm a happily married Mum with three children. We live in a cosy terraced house on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales in England which we are slowly renovating and making home. I have a passion for crochet and colour and love to share my creative journey. I hope you enjoy your peek into my colourful little world x

Those are wonderful bright colours you witnessed on your walk, you were lucky to find some sunshine! Little B has done an amazing job with his colouring. J's hotpot looks so good too! Sarah x

Missy Rose

Beautiful pictures, you definitely had the best weather, we strolled out in the afternoon and got soaked...though it gave us all a good excuse for a hot chocolate in the pub x

Teresa Kasner

What a nice day you all had! I'm very impressed with how well LB is coloring! I'm glad you got out before the rain hit again. We had lots of rainy days and now we're in a run of glorious sunshine. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

You have trained your children so well. I am mighty impressed that you can still pull it off. You know, of course, that they will thank you for all those walks when they are older. They probably do now... I think they enjoy themselves when it is underway, don't they? Mishaps apart. Well done!

Gorgeous colors, in photos and most of all Little B's coloring! I, like many of your readers, look forward to reading your blog and all the colors, and the hooking and knitting that you do! Love the items and flowers that you post as well! Rosemary, such a lovely understated herb! It makes yummy, yummier! Have a wonderful week Lucy and be well! 🌻

Beautiful coloring Little B!! My daughter and sister love to color like that..perfect thing to do as the storms come and go..by the fireplace..under the blanket..sipping hot cocoa..almost makes you want the winter to never end..lol..xo susie

Lucy your pictures are wonderful and yes you are not the only one to rush outside the moment there is a patch of blue sky and respite from the endless rain and wind. The weather in Cornwall has been wild with huge seas and gigantic waves crashing on the cliffs. Looking at your post always cheers, whether its looking at your glorious coloured crochet or your HOT CHOCOLATE!! Thank you Lucy. Keep inspiring us!

Anne

Beautiful photos and Little B's colouring is wonderful. Not only very neat but amazing sense of colour - must take after his Mum.

Elizabeth

Lucy, how are little B's fingers doing? Did the surgery fix the issue? Can you give us an update?

heidijo

Oh I didn't know you could print the colouring in pages off the Internet guess we're I am off to now!
I hope I can colour as well as 6 yr little B, he really did so well.

I have not joined the colouring band wagon. I do get to play with drawing and painting, but I'd rather be knitting. What does bring me joy is watching wee ones colouring. Thank you.

Caroline

Oh I love to measure out all the herbs and spices into little pots before I start cooking. My darling husband tells me to guess and just throw it in, lol.
What lovely colouring from little B, he's very good :)

Kathryn

I love reading your stories about your family life. You've inspired me to persuade my kidlets to go for more walks this year. There's no way my nearly 8 year old boy could colour like that. He's very right to be proud. :-) xxx

Sunday afternoon I did some colouring with my grandson. He likes to do it together , he is four and learned me "magic drawing"" .
Draw lines with white and colour it over with blue.
The lining underneath will appear.
Never to old to learn something new.
Fun!

Absolutely love your allowing us to peek into your life. We live in northern, middle of the country USA and we are having frigid weather. The highs are in the teens and wind chills below zero. So I'm jealous of the fact that you can walk out in the garden and pick rosemary in February. So very jealous. The only thing growing by us are the piles of snow. Oh and I covet the wood burning fireplace. Such a cozy living room. Love from Wisconsin USA♡.

Snowing here as I type, very grey and cold. Fabulous that you were able to have a sunny outing over the weekend (even with the chore of motivating kids)! They name storms here as well in alphabetical order. It's hard to believe L.B. is six! He did a fabulous job with his coloring, takes after his mum no doubt! I'm inspired to get the crockpot out now. I'm lucky that my hubby loves to cook (and thankfully without many dishes). ; ) Enjoy the day!x

Alhana

Beautiful skies! Stay warm and enjoy the cosy fire. :-)

Jayne

Lovely pics Lucy , I see blanket inspiration in those heathery colours !! My weekend was spent finishing your cosy blanket ( I'd used half the kit last year for a gift for my lovely MIL and what do you know there was some yarn left for me 😉 ) The joy of being cosy in front of the log burner with the weather raging outside and a heap of blanket in my lap whilst I finished the edging - pure bliss !! Thanks for the patterns and colour blends xx

tinke

Ow, cosy stories. A need in this gray moody weather.Your son is talented in colouring. Good for him.

Myra Miller

Little B obviously has inherited your flair for colour and pattern x

Karen

Love your pictures....and the stories! Thanks for sharing.

Must be a husband thing - using lots of tiny dishes when cooking. Mine does it too. I tell him he cooks like a cooking show with all of the little prep bowls. But I make sure not to say it in a complaining way, because, you're right, is fabulous to have someone else manning the kitchen for a change.

Linda

Imogen? Jake? Have you noticed that the storms seem to have got worse since they had names???
