After a week full of Christmas shopping, catching up with friends, school commitments with the Little People and not an ounce of hooky time to be found, yesterday was earmarked as my crochet day. It was delightful - I parked myself in the Big Chair which has been squished up to make room for the Christmas tree, and settled down to work those Sunny rows. I had Christmas tunes playing, a scented Winter Wood candle flickering on the mantle and all was fine and dandy in my woolly world. Oh those colours - so in tune with my own personal Colours of Christmas, it made me smile to think of my blanket co-ordinating so beautifully with the Christmas tree!
So this week we are on with squares 13 and 14 which are going to be sitting next to each other along the bottom of the blanket. Can you see the subtle diagonal stripe that appears when the two squares are placed together? I am loving the colour-play of this blanket very, very much, it's scrumptious. Right then, lets not waffle, lets get right down to the colours for this week......

Even though I am going to be very busy doing Christmassy things this week (hello Christmas cards that still need to be written and posted!), I'm really looking forward to making the last two squares for my Sunny Log Cabin blanket. Sitting down in front of the fire with my hook and colourful bag of yarn to hand gives me so much pleasure and relaxation at this time of year. I often find myself giving quiet thanks for the accidental way that crochet came to me eight years ago, and how much it has changed and shaped the course of my life. Wherever would I be without yarn and hook?
Have a truly splendid festive week my lovelies, enjoy everything this season has to offer. Wishing you love, light, peace and happiness, and a whole load of joyful hooky xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I haven't been by to see you here in quite a while. This is a lovely blanket. I am mostly a quilter, but my Granny taught me to crochet and I have been working on a two color ziggy blanket for over a year now. I needed something to crochet while going through cancer treatments this last year. My question is, are you going to leave these CAL posts up so we can make this after the holidays? I would love to make this one. Merry Christmas Lucy, and a blessed new year to you.

I couldn't resist not to order the sunny blanket.
The third blanket I'll start with .
The coast blanket is used by a niece.
The cottage blanket seems to become my husbands favorite , so I like to make one for myself.
A Merry Christmas and a colourful 2016 with love and inspiration.

I was just thinking earlier how this time of year is so good for yarn and fabric and general making of things. I always want to sit and create something warm on these long, dark, chilly evenings. CJ xx

I am so enjoying making this blanket. I am one square behind right now but I hope to be back on track by next weekend. My grandson arrives tomorrow to spend Christmas in Spain, so we will be sitting chatting, while I do my crochet. You have made me nervous in the way you choose your colours ech week. The mathematician in me would have drawn a plan and had it all worked out before I started, but that is obviously not your way, and it is amazing to see how it is all coming together. I can't wait to see the finished blanket now. Every Blessing for the Christmas season, and wishes for a healthy and peaceful new year. Kate xx

The progress of your sunny blanket looks great but I have fallen in love with the hexagon throw over your couch. Is this the "hexagon blanket" as seen in a 2008 post? The colours are beautiful. It's been an extremely hot couple of days here in Melbourne, Australia over 40 degrees but my interest to create such a beautiful throw has just been heightened, hot weather and all!!
Have a peaceful time with your family and friends over the Christmas season.
