Oh Sunday, what an absolutely beautiful day it was here. After a dull, misty start, the low cloud suddenly lifted and there it was, the most glorious, light, bright, warm Autumn day. After the usual shenanigans with the Little People, we miraculously managed to all be out the house, into the car, up the road and out the car again by 10am.
It only takes about 40 minutes to walk around the local reservoir and it's a walk we do frequently at different times throughout the year. It's such a tonic, the fresh air and scenery, the gentle banter with the family, the colours of the season playing out so gloriously all around. My heart was full to bursting.

Beautiful. I know just what you mean. I'm so glad we got out in the sunshine for a walk last weekend as it's been incessant rain and gloom ever since. Hope you're well my lovely. xx

Your pictures always make me nostalgic for home. i was born and brought up in York and spent many a day out and about in the Dales. I now live in the crowded south east but love my trips back to Yorkshire. Thank you for sharing.

Hi Lucy, where in the Yorkshire dales is the reservoir as I think I recognise it. We have a holiday home at Tarn House (Stirton) and your photos remind me of Embsay crag and reservoir. :-)

Thank you so much for sharing these happy bright photos. We, too, went for a walk on Sunday, along the sea front in South Devon. It was so damp and foggy we could barely see each other, let alone the view, so your photos have really cheered me up!

Beautiful depth to your pictures and vibrant colours. Sunday was gorgeous here in Northumberland too. I was lucky enough to be out with my pony driving in his carriage for a couple of hours enjoying the sunny autumn colours and fresh air, wonderful!

you are certainly getting some lovely photos on that new camera. I love the hip berries against the blue sky, and the grass and spiders web are beautiful.
