Today I enjoyed pottering about the house with the family, celebrating not only midsummer, but Father's Day too.
Today I put my apron on over my pyjamas, turned the radio on and baked a cake.
Today I decorated my cake with rice paper butterflies and made a promise to myself to make a Summer Solstice cake every year from now on.
Today I packed up a speedy picnic and we journeyed into the countryside to enjoy an impromptu al fresco lunch.
Today I loved the way the grasses looked so utterly summery.
Today I loved the babbling sound of the river as I ate my lunch.
Today I celebrated this beautiful midsummers day eating cake and fresh strawberries beside the river with my family and felt blessed beyond words by this life of ours.
"As the sun spirals its longest dance - cleanse us, As nature shows bounty and fertility - bless us. Let all things live with loving intent and to fulfil their truest destiny."
Wishing you all a blessed Summer/Winter Solstice, wherever you are on this gorgeous planet of ours. I hope your day has been filled with happiness.

I can't help looking you up to see what you have posted... So much to try! Truly are a talented lady. I like how you present your ideas just like a MIXTURE OF TEXTILES! I made the Lemon Drizzle cake/bread for Father's Day and the hubby loved it and so did I. Blessings come in BiG and Small and I give thanks everyday for each new day. Have a great week....

Happy Midsummer Day to you and your family as well. The butterfly cake looks divine. I can just taste the strawberry or raspberry jam with creme oozing out of the center. Hmmmm my mouth is just watering. What a lovely day for an alfresco lunch by the water. Lots of hooking love to you Luce! I can't wait to hear from you again. xxxxxxxxxxx

What a perfect day! And a gorgeous cake! We're celebrating Father's Day here too.. I made Dayle an egg salad sandwich with our own hen's eggs. We're taking him out to Chinese dinner this evening, too. Fun times! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

I loved the way you kept referring to 'today' Lucy... that is the way to live 'in the now'! Such a rich experience of enjoyment in every little thing and that's how we get to feel rich and blessed. Excuse the pun but I am now hooked on crochet! Thank you for inspiring me. xx

Hi Lucy,
Blessed to be recovering from serious illness and able to contemplate making a crocheted blanket for my great niece. She requested sunset colors. No blue. No green. And the colors of her beloved late cat running through. So they are orange, white and a dark rust. Thought I might do a ripple and put "kitty" in in the fibonacci sequence. Considering I was too ill to even remember how to double crochet, figuring that out is truly a real blessing.
Thank you for your lovely, colorful blog. A blessing to many.

So have all my family with me to make a lovely Father's Day for hubby and son-in-law. All homeward bound tomorrow.sigh!
