About Me

  • Hello! Thank you so much for visiting me in the Attic, it's lovely to see you. My name is Lucy and I'm a happily married Mum with three children. We live in a cosy terraced house on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales in England which we are slowly renovating and making home. I have a passion for crochet and colour and love to share my creative journey. I hope you enjoy your peek into my colourful little world x

Beautiful! Why is it that the minute I see a narrowboat, I LONG to be there. Sigh. I watched a PBS special one night about the narrowboats on the canals in and around London. It was fascinating.

I can't crochet! I've sprained my wrist! How will I cope? 😕🐑🐏 Mari in a very chilly Torquay.

Hi Lucy,
I know the allotments in Aireville park have a long waiting list, but there are spaces on the sites owned by the town council. We are at the bottom of the Broughton Rd ones and there are spaces there.

We got our allotment after 9 years, so don't give up hope! I love the canal boats, I would love to have one of those to potter around in :)

Leah

Thank you for sharing the lovely area that you live in. It has reminded me to appreciate my local town a bit more as I often rush around not really observing.
Loving your crochet blanket, very pretty colours.

Hermoso y mágico, que lugares increíbles!!!

Stephanie, it looks like Lucy is using her join-as-you-go method.

Lucy, I could never nod off while reading your blog! Your sentiments are so aligned with my own, and when I am really wound up (I'm renovating a house here in France, and sometimes it all feels too much), reading your blog calms me down and uplifts me at the same time! Wishing you a good week!

Constance

So lovely to hear from Yorkshire! I now live in the far west (Poldark country!) and my favourite place to crochet is sitting on the seat above our allotment in the Penberth valley...

As someone whose family worked in the woolen mills in Yorkshire, I'm pleased to see that wool is still being produced there!! It almost made me a little homesick lol!!!

Good luck with all the 'dotting of the i's!' A belated happy birthday to L. L.! So glad spring is showing off finally in your 'neck of the woods.' We've been blessed with a wonderfully long spring this year, instead of a short hop into summer temps with you wondering where spring was. I wish you luck with finishing your blanket in time for that photo shoot! (I'm close to assemble of mine, then the border.)I'm off to hang my hammock today and maybe, just maybe some hooky time in it later in the day. Enjoy!

Tania Bradley

I love your work. You inspire me to do more crochet and I am rather sad that I do not have more time for it. I am currently finishing some baby blankets for 2 friends having babies. I really enjoyed your post.

Goodness you have been busy. Whenever I see photos of Skipton, I want to move there. I know I have to move soon, but Sussex to Yorkshire might be a bit much, or maybe not! new beginnings and all that. x

Carol

I would Love to come visit you for just one week. Also I please have one of each color yarn.

Thanks for all the pics from your side of the world. The history over there has me entranced. Love your little town, village. I really like the canal. I wouldn't mind being a butterfly atop your shoulder as you wander up and down with your camera.

Jean the Creative Pixie

Looks like a glorious week. I work in a school and once the exam classes leave (in mid May) my head shall be free to think of wonderful day trips with my own children. Jean

The colors for your Harmony blanket is EXACTLY what I am looking for to make a dear friend of mine a blanket for Christmas. I have my fingers crossed that you will share the colors, yarn and patterns used!!! What a beautiful gift you have and such a lovely person as well!!

Stephanie Anderson

What is the pattern for the joining edging you are using on your Harmony blanket please?

Thank you,
Stephanie

Carly

Seeing all your projects always makes me so eager to start working on something, like a poncho I think! I'd love to take a project to the beach or a lake or somewhere scenic to work on it and relax, it looks like a lovely thing to do. Good luck with last week's to-do list this week!
