Linda

I could actually smell the sea air reading your blog. Wonderful photos, as usual. Thank you for sharing ☺️

May there be many, many more indeed for you all. I loved your holiday snaps as Dave and I did a visit to West Bay last year and had an absolutely glorious day. Seeing the benches up the cliff and the beautiful harbour brought it all back. As for the café ... oh yes, yes, yes. We have also in the past visited Abbotsbury and had the walk up to the old church. Thank you for sharing Xx lots of love Joy Xx

Thank you so much for sharing your delightful holoday with us Lucy. I had the most wonderful family holidays in Dorset throughout my childhood.....And beyond. 😄 I absolutely love it. It's the most gorgeous place ever. 😄

Heather Gibbs

Looks like you had a wonderful holiday! I've only been to Dorset the once but remember it fondly. I definitely need to try some S'mores next time I go camping!

Vanessa

Beatiful Lucy. I had my Easter break away visiting family in the Gower. A trip we do most Easters. We had such gorgeous weather and cliff side walks and beach days were just wonderful. Nothing beats beach air! Xxx

Carol

Lovely photos and what a good holiday you have had. I think blue skies just finish everything off so well. Thanks for showing them.

Thistle

I always enjoy seeing your holiday snapshots. I would love to visit Dorset someday. I think I am also a victim of the Broadchurch Effect, though this is the first time I've heard of it. Loved the scenery on the show, though! Thanks for sharing.

Wendy at September Violets

What a beautiful, happy holiday! Gorgeous photos of the area. I'm with you on the quiet "away from the madding crowd" sort of places. Love that wide open water and seemingly endless coastline :)

Cary

Thank you for allowing us to make this journey with you, visually at least ;) Absolutely lovely!

Laura from beautiful West Michigan

I love when you share holiday pics! It's all so pretty and charming. Glad you had a great time!

Your Dorset posts always make me smile, as we had our honeymoon in a caravan at West Bexington nearly 29 years ago (strapped for cash, just left Uni!) and stayed in Burton Bradstock every year for about 10 years when our 2 oldest were small. All the places you talk about and picture are all familiar favourites and make me long to go back really soon.
I wondered if Broadchurch would have an effect on West Bay - we watched it mostly to see the surroundings!!
I remember being in West Bay when they filmed Harbour Lights with Nick Berry!!! Remember that?! :)

Best holidays we've had in Weymouth, Westbay, and other places around that part of Dorest.Must try and get to visit this year, was going last year, booked 4 days, but had to cancel due to having spinal surgery. Seeing your wonderful photos has made me want to jump in the car and go now! I don't like motorway driving but I will drive the 2 1/2 hrs it takes us to get there. Right that's my summer hols sorted.

Shaun

We moved to this area at the end of July last year having spent 12 years in Melbourne. Your writing just brings the place alive on the page and I can honestly say it is one of the best places to live. We stayed in the hotel in West Bexington while we were looking for a house down here and I agree it is a very special corner of a lovely part of the world. Thanks to you, we "discovered" St Catherine's in our first week and it continues to be a favourite walk. That view is so liberating! I love that you are loving retuning here year after year and your photos are a great representation of the area.

I loved looking at your photos of your special place and West Bex beach sounds wonderful. I love it that your children prefer the quiet locations to the hustle and bustle of Weymouth, what a lovely upbringing they are having. xx

Andrina

Do t think I can fully express in words how happy your photos make my heart! I've come to the conclusion that I really need to live by the be water. What a perfect place to be on holiday!
Will your granny blanket have a colorway tutorial or instant this just one for your own happy? :)

Angela-Southern USA

How wonderful Lucy! Thanks so much for sharing. We are the same about crowds, avoided whenever possible. Maybe there is a suggestion box at Eype and you could drop that little gem of advice in there ear. ; ))The blanket is looking lovely. Enjoy your day!xoxo

Oh I so enjoyed reading your Dorset holidays again!I so much would have loved to visit Chesil Beach myself since I read the book too. AriadnefromGreece!

A lovely seasidey post - I could smell the sea air! The weather has been wonderful, hasn't it? The blue skies and sea look fabulous in your photos. Glad you all had a good time :)

I love that part of the world so much as well....West Bexington is a fab beach, my favourite too.
And I would rather picnic than eat in some fancy schmancy restaurant any day!!
Thanks for this happy post :-)

We had a holiday in West Bay a few years ago and loved it. Hubby & son had a great day fishing on West Bexington beach and we also frequented that little beach cafe. Happy memories

Mary Pugh

That sounds positively idyllic! I live in Devon but I have to admit I really do not get out & about enough. We too have beautiful beaches and views and hidden gems along the coast. My terrace is a peaceful sun trap & it's all too easy to sit outside with my cup of tea and plate of toast, as I am now! Glad to hear that you had a lovely laidback break.....now, back to work! Lol! 😊😊😊😊 xx

Gail

Lucy, your holiday photographs are lovely! So happy that you had a grand time. Also, I am smitten with the new blanket. Love the colors, but you are a genius at color play! Is the "how to" forthcoming? I hope so. Thank you for sharing your world with us.
