About Me

  • Hello! Thank you so much for visiting me in the Attic, it's lovely to see you. My name is Lucy and I'm a happily married Mum with three children. We live in a cosy terraced house on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales in England which we are slowly renovating and making home. I have a passion for crochet and colour and love to share my creative journey. I hope you enjoy your peek into my colourful little world x

Sounds like a perfect day Lucy, my kids have long since flown the nest & all live quite a distance away so I expected to spent the day alone until a lovely family at church insisted I join them & some other friends for lunch...there were 13 of us in all sat around the table & what I had thought was going to be a rather lonely day turned out to be just wonderful!!!...Deirdre x

So sweet, so Lovely
Happy Day !

I am with you on the tulips. You can stuff your big bouquets where the sun don't shine. A plain bunch of tulips is what I really love.

Hope you remembered to stab your tulips with a pin !Glad you had such a lovely day.

I love Mother's Days like these, just the simple things. I received a great card from my daughter with little sketches inside like a comic book, with me picking up the card, saying I don't like cards, opening it anyway, getting offended by the drawings and then one showing me picking up the Baileys and getting a little tipsy (a gift from my son)!! This will be one for the memory box, and I have to say the best present I have ever received - showing that they know me so well!! Have a wonderful week and I do hope some warmth reaches you soon (we have a little warmth in Lincolnshire so will blow it your way). Chel xx

So beautifully written as always, transporting me north from boring and river free essex. Xxx

Ah! the sweetness of enjoying a (well earned!) quiet family togetherness Mothers Day! Brava! Lucy!
What a sweet lovely family you have. I recall the absolute sweetness of that first gift a child gives you - from his/her own money! Nearly brought tears to my eyes reading of your chocolate from your precious Little Man!

So nice to read of you enjoying a peaceful day with your family...you so deserve it! Cooking dinner would never have finished the day quite so nicely!

Well done, little family! Well done!

Sounds like you had a wonderful Mother's Day Lucy. You know, it's those little things that mean so much to us, doesn't need to be a big present, tulips and lemon cake sounds "divine' to me too. Can't wait to see what your "hooking" up there.

Happy Mothers' Day, Lucy! You certainly had an idyllic day. There is nothing like a warm fire and some crochet time after a brisk walk in the March wind!

Shelley (w.cork)

Happy Mother's Day!!! Daffodils are my favourite, their bright bouncy yellow heads after the grey muted winter is always a delightful sight. I got wonderful homemade cards my favourite, makes me slightly sad as I know someday these days will b gone, so I must cherish cherish these moments! Lovely day.

Hi Lucy, glad you had a good mothers day. Eldest went out and bought me some chocolate...sweet boy.
So nice you managed a family walk. I was working in the morning, but managed two short walks with a child each time.....one to one time is good.
Love your latest bag.

I spent the day with my gorgeous nearly 19 year old daughter and it was heavenly. We are becoming the sort of friends I hoped for when we didn't get on at all and I despaired of ever getting to this stage. It was wonderful just as yours sounded Lucy. X

Sounds like an idyllic day my sweet friend xx

That lemon cake looks scrummy! Glad you had a lovely day x

What a lovely Mother's day. I remember when my youngest gave me something all on her own for Mother's day. It is one of my cherished possessions!!

Your day seems to have mirrored mine with the exception that we walked along the Tyne and only one child accompanied us as the other is studying for A levels. Little dog joined in too so that made my day complete. Glad you had a day of family and simplicity, always the best of you ask me.
