About Me

  • Hello! Thank you so much for visiting me in the Attic, it's lovely to see you. My name is Lucy and I'm a happily married Mum with three children. We live in a cosy terraced house on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales in England which we are slowly renovating and making home. I have a passion for crochet and colour and love to share my creative journey. I hope you enjoy your peek into my colourful little world x

Love your maryjane's with the polka dot socks!

What a happy post with sweet pics to boot. One super achievement happened today... I finished my first blanket (Cosy Stripe) since being a part of Attic24. The fantastic world of sunshine and color. I added a ribbon on the top left corner that has two hearts and the phrase "crocheted with love". I gave it to my mom and she was so overjoyed! The part that took the most time was the edge. I did a double crocheted row of navy blue then a single crochet row of iced aqua and the last row was a double crochet of navy blue. I am so thrilled with how it came out. Everytime I look at it today my heart did a flutter. I am currently working on my Granny Stripe using the correct color pack. I am loving this one to bits. I think I will be making another Cosy and Granny stripe afghan for sure. I adore making blankets. :) I hope the pack comes in so I can do the CAL when it starts in April.
Lots of hooky love all the way from across the pond. Enjoy your weekend Lucy. Hugs to you and the little people. Of course J too. Can't leave him out. LOL

Thank you for such a happy post. I had a glorious time in the warm sun beginning to prepare the raised beds for planting. I was happy when I came across some self-seeded sorrel and have potted it up for salads later in the year.

I love the washi tape and went over to Amazon to buy some but hesitated because the reviews were so mixed. I would be interested to know what you think of it once you have tried it.

Aren't the spring daffs so cheery? I have tete a tete in my front garden and they make me smile every day!

Have you heard of Guat Shoes in Sheffield? They handmake shoes and boots and have Mary Janes http://www.guatshoes.co.uk/wmns_shs.html# They're not cheap but the boots I have are holding up very well several years on. Oh, and they have a wide range of colours too. (I have absolutely no connection with them except my one pair of boots)

Love the photo of the daffs! They're just beginning to bloom here.

Hmmmm....I was thinking I might crochet some pretty jackets for empty baked bean tins to use as cutlery holders in the kitchen, but now I've seen your washi tape I'm having second thoughts!

A friend shared Attic 24 and I like it and so would like to follow your blog.Thank you.

The colours are a joy. I feel Spring is springing

I walked amongst the daffodil fields in Lincolnshire today and it was gorgeous. Even more so because I didn't have to wear a coat. Wasn't the weather glorious today! Have a wonderful weekend x

Penny Carr

I feel happy just looking at those photos!

uh orange-centred daffodils, you don't see those in the shops around here. Masses of the pure yellow ones though. Nice with a bit of variation;)
I am in my mid seasin jackets again, loving it. Never did get the winter shoes out of the closet actually..
Happy weekend:)

Colour just makes a day- we had a Brimstone butterfly in the garden this afternoon, gorgeous colour.

Just discovered Washi tape, am now covering charity shop frames, coffee tins, so easy and effective. Love reading the blog, keep cheering us up xxx

Sending even more Happiness your way, from Canada. Warm regards to you Lucy, and to your blog friends.

I have extreme washi tape envy right now!!!

Sharon Brown

I can see why the daffodils would have made you happy. Fresh flowers have a habit of doing that.
What are you going to use the washi tape for Lucy?
I don't own a pair of boots! I live in flip-flops pretty much all year round here, even during the winter months. I couldn't imagine having my feet stuffed into boots or shoes for so long, although your Mary Jane's do look comfortable. Take care x

Angela-Southern USA

Happy spring Lucy! I too have a jug of daffodils freshly picked on my table today. Wonderful to bring out the lighter shoes again. Enjoy the weekend! xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Ha, do you know I ordered those /exact/ washi tapes off amazon a while back - can't wait to use them. Xx

Winwick Mum

I'm fascinated to see what you're going to do with the washi tape. It's such lovely bright colours, I think I would just want to keep it on the rolls and look at it! xx

Hi Lucy, Thanks for sharing your happy and colourful moments with us. I saw a big fat bumble bee today which reminds me summer is coming, a beautiful clear blue sky this afternoon and three black cows grazing in the nature reserve where we walk, I say "afternoon girls" and they look at me, probably thinking "here she comes again". That's what made me happy today. Have a great weekend. x

Some lovely happies there, I too ventured out in a shoes instead of boots today.

How very appropriate, a happy filled day on International Happiness Day!

Three lovely colourful things. I LOVE the colour of those shoes, absolutely gorgeous. It's so nice to feel a little spring warmth in the sun again isn't it. I sat on the back step in the sun this afternoon for ten minutes, getting some much needed Vitamin D, it was wonderful. I hope you all have a really good weekend Lucy. CJ xx

LOVE the colour of those shoes, it's gorgeous. It's so nice to feel the sun again isn't it. I sat on the back step this afternoon for ten minutes, with a hot drink, just soaking up the first sun I've properly felt this year. Have a wonderful weekend Lucy. CJ xx
