About Me

  • Hello! Thank you so much for visiting me in the Attic, it's lovely to see you. My name is Lucy and I'm a happily married Mum with three children. We live in a cosy terraced house on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales in England which we are slowly renovating and making home. I have a passion for crochet and colour and love to share my creative journey. I hope you enjoy your peek into my colourful little world x

So good to hear your voice again! Love the peek of your accent wall in the studio, it looks fab! Can't wait to see what has been twirling around in your head these past few months since my visit in Nov. Hugs!

Val

Hope you all have a lovely break. Keep warm. Luv Val x

So glad to see you back! The older I get, the worse winter seems to be. We had such a horrible winter here in the US last year....seemed I was constantly sick and/or it was far too cold to get out and do anything. This winter has been much milder...but it's still winter. I'm getting close to being done with my cosy ripple. Ran out of one shade of blue and I'm waiting for it to arrive. When I'm done with that, I bought the yarn for your granny blanket that's a free pattern on one of the yarn websites-can't remember where at the moment, but I'm excited to make that one in its beautiful bright colors. Hope your weather gets warmer, it makes such a difference when you can get outside, at least for me. Have a good week!

Carol

So glad to hear you are better as I was worried when you hadn't posted for a while. Love the snowflake book and may buy it.

Keep going - Spring is round the corner!!

Annette

Hi Lucy, sorry to read that you have been unwell. I thought there was something wrong. You take care, the blog can wait! XX. Annette

So nice to "hear" from you again. Hope the mojo is flowing well now. ; )(It's been a week of migraines here.) I look forward to seeing your February endeavors. For the Hellebore centers maybe working them with thread instead, or store bought stamens. Good luck!

Jackie

It's great to see you back and hear your bloggy voice again. Despite your little set backs it looks like there has still been plenty going on in the Attic. Hoping you are well on the road to recovery now and start to feel better soon. Spring is on it's way! :O)xx

Claire

So glad you're back! I was wondering, a lot.

I felt rubbish all January and it was getting worse at the beginning of February. Then yesterday I woke up and suddenly, out-of-the-blue, unexpectedly, I felt positive, energetic, lively - and HAPPY! It was such a relief.

Yes, the sun was shining, but it was like there was a deeper rhythm or energy (or something!)of nature and Spring at work. I got so much done and carried an bubble of joy around with me all day(for no reason at all)!

Anyway, what I wanted to say is that I hope this happens to you too! It may take a tiny bit longer up north of course ;)

But hang on in there...

Rina

Lucy, I am so happy that everything is OK with you and your family. It is wonderful to read again your Blog. Thank you for filling my days with color, inspiration and optimism.

Michelle

SO glad to have you back. New pains brings the excitement of the beginning a the school year for me - I always loved that feeling at the beginning of Fall. I am really looking forward to seeing your new Granny Square and eventual blanket. Take care of yourself with more hot coffee and a treat now and then.

Hi Lucy, I was thinking yesterday "I hope Lucy is ok as we haven't heard from her for a while" but I popped over to Facebook land (I don't go there v often) and saw that you'd been chatting a little there. So I realised you were alright, yay :-) I completely agree with you re the new paints, a new tin of pencils are lovely too aren't they? I'm hankering after a tin of inktense pencils, I want them even more now I've discovered that you can draw on fabric with them too - ohh the possibilities! I can't wait to see your new Granny plans, and the wreath, and the painty spotty pebbles! How exciting. I hope all your lovely family are well, sending lots of love, Jo xxxx

Jenny

Hi Lucy good you can hear us again we miss you too but do understand when you been poorly but I do enjoy exploring your past posts take care love Jenny xx

Claire

Oh Lucy, January is always such a tough month. I'm sorry if we bothered you, expecting too much when you were feeling down. Reading your blog right from your first post to January 15 got me through three weeks of pneumonia in December and January and because of you I learnt to crochet as I started to feel better. Take care of yourself and enjoy your break by the coast. Cx

Karen

Pleased you're okay. Thanks for the little peek into your world, it always brightens my day :)

Annie

Glad you are starting to feel better. I missed your presence and was worried that all might not be well. Look after yourself and your family, the blog is less important, though I do so enjoy it! And a new granny, can't wait!

It is good to see you back and feeling sorta like your normal self. Writer's block can definately be very frustrating. But like you said you just have to ride it out and wait for it to return. The bread looks lovely. I bet it would be superb served hot with real butter slathered on top. Yummy!! I came to the realization last week that it just wasn't going to possible for me to mail this large package to you but I suppose I understand ... sorta. I went out the other day to get some errands done and came across some of the most beautiful red tulips. There are six blooms growing in a pot. I thought of you immediately and snatched them up for myself just beacause. :) They close up at night and open again in the morning. It is amazing to watch them stretch and grow as they reach to the sun light. Oh my.. it is so good to see you back with hook in hand and ready to share your talent, humor and your amazing color theory with us. I can not thank you enough.

Kath

So good to see you back, and so sorry things haven't been too good for you. Hopefully, things will start to pick up now. The snowflakes are so pretty and will look gorgeous on your wreath. Enjoy the break next week. Hope you find some treasures!

Good to see you're back. Hope you're feeling better soon. These bugs take a while to shift especially of you have such a busy life.

Take care

Hi Lucy, good to see you back! I was only looking to see if there was a new post about an hour since, I should have known! Hope you are feeling a little better, January is always a bit of an upheaval with many of us getting a little low and ill. Anyway its good to see you back xxxx

Astrid Jansen

Fine to read your blog , it is good to take your time and follow your moods and needs.
January her was a cold , a shiver and a lot of sofahanging. Today I'm cleaning up paperwork and in between a cup of tea with your blog.
Just the last pieces to go.
Have fun.

Olympia

I love stopping by your crafting, colourful area...So cool!

Mary Pugh

So glad to hear you're feeling better. How are we going to get our dose of colour and prettiness to keep our spirits up at this time of the year without your cheerful and upbeat attitude I'd like to know? Lol! 🐑 😀 xxx Mary.

vina

Hi Lucy love the snowflake book. Can't wait to see your winter wreath. Take care vina xx
