About Me

  • Hello! Thank you so much for visiting me in the Attic, it's lovely to see you. My name is Lucy and I'm a happily married Mum with three children. We live in a cosy terraced house on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales in England which we are slowly renovating and making home. I have a passion for crochet and colour and love to share my creative journey. I hope you enjoy your peek into my colourful little world x

Sounds a fab week, love the photos & looking forward to the something colourful xx

Sounds like a wonderful week, and especially the opportunities for relaxation.
I love the colours on your blog, always so inspiring! Thanks as ever xxxx

Can't wait until tomorrow to see something colourful. Very excited!! You seem to have had a lovely half term. Good.

It's been ages since I've gone to the cinema and they have had an intermission and someone selling ice-creams! How lovely! You sound like you had a marvellous half-term holiday. Looking forward to hearing about your new project!

Bliss. My favourite thing is when we're all in the same room but doing our own thing in busy silence. X

Your work is always so colorful and beautiful that I cant imagine what surprise you have for us but I will be watching for it. I follow and share. This is my fave go-to blog. I am making one of your wreaths now. Thanks so much.
Crochet A Day In The Life

Yet another lovely post! Can't wait for tomorrow's colourful surprise. I made one of your mandalas on the weekend (it's WAY too hot here in Australia to be making blankets at the moment!). Loved the mandala which is going to be a present for my brother and his wife. Went to get more yarn this morning to make more for my other siblings and my mum. You're right about them being addictive...
You're inspirational Lucy… thanks too for the wonderful post yesterday about your trip to the seaside… stunning pictures and sounds like it was a special time for you and the family!

You sound so relaxed. Amazing what a short break will do. Look forward to tomorrow for a colourful surprise. There's nothing so cosy as an open fire. I'm now living in Singapore so I will have to go to UK for the flicker of a fireplace..Its about 32deg every day. We have just had Chinese New Year celebrations. Oh wow! What colour and noise - fantastic. I thought the beach huts looked great, I take it you'll be looking forward to the summer holidays. :😄

By the fireplace!!! That is so nice... what a lovely place to crochet!

Have had a lovely half term learning to crochet granny squares from your patterns and am feeling dead chuffed that I have a string of 12 joined already. Thank you!
We will be coming up to Yorkshire too in the Easter hols to reunite with family so am looking forward to seeing your bit of the world...
Thanks again for your lovely blog- you bring colour into my little life down in sussex... x

Loving your lampshade!!

Winwick Mum

We went to see Big Hero 6 on Thursday and loved it - so much better than I expected it to be. Our last holiday day hasn't been particularly relaxing but has still been a good day, and I'm looking forward to life fitting back into our usual routine xx

It sounds like you had a lovely week. I look forward to seeing your colorful surprise.

Ooh that granny blanket is going to need a ta-da moment! It looks very spring-y! :)

Debra Wortman

I can't wait to see your latest project. I'm still working on my Cosy Blanket.

Just love reading your blog, and no wonder you love going back to the studio - it's so lovely! And they make a mean bacon butty too at coopers ! X

Hi Lucy, just wanted to tell you l made the coastal ripple blanket for my husbands grand mother 90th birthday and she loved it, can l ask is there a pattern for the lovely shade you have in one of your pictures. I've also made the blooming flower cushion you are just so inspirational, Thank you

Ooo, can't wait to read more about your bit of hooky. The sneak peek looks already scrummy! Thanks for sharing :) xx

That sounds like the very best of weeks Lucy. It's a shame they always fly by so fast isn't it. I shall look forward to seeing what you have for us tomorrow. Wishing you all a good week. CJ xx

Your weekend sounds just perfect. We went to an alpaca farm yesterday, I just posted some pix.. those little animals are so charming and sweet! I think we're off to lunch out soon.. then home to repot some plants. Love the sunshine we're having! Can't wait to see what you will show us tomorrow! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

Sounds lovely. We had a snow/cold enforced week off and while we had fun, it will be good to have the little one back at school.

I spy some really cute granny squares! Love how cozy it all looks in front of the fire. And I wish we had breaks here in the US like you guys do in England :)
