I can't tell you how much pleasure it gives me putting these review posts together, there is a pleasing simplicity about gathering together a collection of fairly random images to celebrate the meaning of "home". If you've been a regular visitor to the Attic, you'll know how much I love spending time at home, whether it's family time or me-time. All these images focus on the simple domestic pleasures of life the home front - food, drink, fresh flowers, baking, cooking, growing, creating, mothering. Making a warm, cosy, relaxed and happy home in which to raise the Little People and nurture our family.
I hope you enjoy the visuals!
I take pictures like this almost every day with my little camera, it has become very important for me to capture and remember the beautiful ordinariness of my home life. I think it's really, really worth celebrating the little snippets of daily life, the colours, the memories, the heart-skippy happy moments that make up each day. Blogging is just perfect for this purpose, which is one of the reasons I love being here so much. Thank you (thank you, thank you) for continuing to share it all with me, the sharing really makes the ordinariness that little bit more extraordinary.
Previous years "Home" posts are in my archives, in case you wish to pootle through more of my colourful memories....

ps. the image at the top there is a beautiful cross stitch pattern by Emma Congdon {Stitchrovia}....I've been obsessing a bit over cross stitch patterns since I was recently sent some mini hama beads to try, I'm looking forward to giving that a whirl very soon.

Great photos, Lucy. It's so much fun to look back on the past year and reminisce about all the special moments we've had. And, now it's time for us to start making the memories we'll be looking back on next year. I hope it's wonderful for your and your family. xoxo

Lucy, I have so enjoyed your sharing some of your day-to-day with us over these several years. You are human and not everything is hunky-dory all the time but you let us know when you need to bow out for awhile and you also celebrate the positives in your life. I've been inspired to make several of your patterns and my house glows with these touches of your inspiration. So, I'm starting this New Year with a big THANK YOU for letting us into your world.

Having done cross stitch for many years, and also having had Hama beads around the house for many years whilst the children were small, it never occurred to me to put the two together.... That, my dear, is why you are a Creative Genius, and I? Am not!

Your photos give me such a warm feeling. They also bring back so many memories of the time when my children were growing up and the house was full of their chatter and activities. Home and family mean so much. Thank you for your inspiring blog and photos.

It was interesting to me to look at the 2009 review since I only got into blogging a couple of years ago, and never knew you when your little boy was a lovely round bump... and I assume the mummy with stripey socks and smaller pink feet belong to your little lady... haven't they grown so fast! When you get to my age, you tend to forget how quickly they do grow. Thank you Lucy, for all the inspiration you have given me over the years, the colourful pleasure your posts have given me, and for allowing us all a peep into your everyday life and home.
