  • Thank you so much for visiting me in the Attic, it's lovely to see you. My name is Lucy and I'm a happily married Mum with three children. We live in a cosy terraced house on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales in England which we are slowly renovating and making home. I have a passion for crochet and colour and love to share my creative journey. I hope you enjoy your peek into my colourful little world x

What a lovely time at the café - seems so cozy and comforting!

Just found this post on this yummy blanket! Will run out to get yarn & also see what's tucked away in my yarn mountain stash... Can't wait to CAL with you! Absolutely GORGEOUS colors! Makes me so happ to see your thoughtful and inspiring process also. You are quite an artist!!! Thank you for all you do for us readers!

YUM. What a great post, thankyou Lucy for sharing, as always it is a pleasure to read your blog. You have been so inspiring to me, not just in the hooky sense, but you actually inspired me to start my own blog. I have learned how time consuming it really is to write regular posts, I honestly don't know how you manage it all with everything else going on! Well done!!

Lucy, you are a treasure.

Many days you have brought me out of the blues by your happy and colorful endeavors. Thank you.

I am sending you a quote that seems appropriate at this time that I came across just last week from Alysia Harris:

"The moment you feel like you have to prove your worth to someone is the moment to absolutely and utterly walk away."

Hugs, Gail from the USA
PS: I love the new blanket!!!!

Ooh, the strangest thing has just happened! Here I am, catching up with your posts and your "about me" picture changed mid-read! It made me smile but made me jump at the same time. One minute you're in your yard and the next you're smiling at me from out of your page. I've obviously read far too much Harry Potter with small daughter - I'll be expecting you to wave at me next! :) xx

Ohhh They are so fabulous..I am dying to see all your work and blogpost..I just love your blog...

Love those colourful pegs of yours Lucy and visiting here is always a lovely place to be....good time for a cuppa and visit

love you, love coopers, love the coopers girls and their lovely chilly vino plonk mwah xx p.s. the scones are bloomin lovely too

I just want to tell you Lucy, that I love you and all that you do on your blog. No matter what you ramble on about - it is all lovely. I have always enjoyed my time in the Attic. You brought me back to crochet years ago with your hexagon blanket (it's on my bed now - keeping me extra toasty on the cold nights when needed) So yes, I will be joining you in this CAL. Not sure of my colors yet though - stash buster maybe - a true randomness or if I will purchase some favorite colors. In any case I can't wait to begin with your lovely pattern!

Lucy do you have instructions for the lovely flowers you shared on your 10/14 post? I would like to make them - they are so sweet .

Oh! I love sitting in a café and doing some of my reading/knitting/organising/crosswords, etc. So lovely to have people around and there is always a corner in which one can make your temporary 'home'. I'd love you to know how much your blog means to me. May you always find time and energy to chat to us and lighten our days with your lovely words and photos! Happy Friday!

Since we visited Coopers last september , I can imagine you sitting there with a delicious coffee! It is a wonderful place to relax and do some thinking, and the ladies are indeed very, very kind. Enjoy your quiet times!

Look at all that gorgeous colour! I so wish I could have a café morning! Sitting here drooling at that coffee. x

Oh, those pegs are gorgeous! Glad you are sounding like yourself again. And I love your new photo - you look very happy :)

I'm sad I didn't get to Coopers Cafe when we visited Yarndale this year - we just didn't want to leave it. We will make sure to visit next year. What a lovely cheery post Lucy - thank you xx

I am working on my "Cottage" afghan and just need to tell you what a joy it is. I find it to be so relaxing and I can hardly wait to start a new colour...never gets boring. My friend Joanne told me about your blog a while back, and I am so grateful. I appreciate your effort in giving us beautiful photos, gentle thoughts and an abundance of scrumptious colours to fill our minds with loveliness. You are appreciated.

love the new profile pic Lucy Xx Joy Xx

I can absolutely see why you love it there so much, all that warmth and colour. I love what you did with those pegs, such a fab idea for arranging and working with colours. xx

What a blissful way to spend an hour or two! Loved the Yarndale post too.

I wish there was an option to "like" peoples comments as on Facebook. Glad you have a timeout place to go, it really does make coping with the demands of life easier when you can snatch some "me time".

Love those colourful pegs!!! What a beautiful site. Love the new profile picture!!!
Love & hugs

Such beautiful colours! I'm so glad you were able to enjoy a peaceful coffee and enjoy some 'yarn therapy', as I know you've had a bit of a difficult time lately. Looking forward to reading all about your mandalas - they look so colourful.

So glad you're back! You seem to be rejuvenated. Your posts, whether long or short, are lovely. Thank you. Maybe next year will be the year I'll be able to see Yarndale first hand. Skipton is a long way from Utah!!!
