About Me

  • Hello! Thank you so much for visiting me in the Attic, it's lovely to see you. My name is Lucy and I'm a happily married Mum with three children. We live in a cosy terraced house on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales in England which we are slowly renovating and making home. I have a passion for crochet and colour and love to share my creative journey. I hope you enjoy your peek into my colourful little world x

So looking forward to my first Yarndale visit. Have been teaching myself crochet as I have the task of yarn bombing our local park in January!!

So, all the best for Yarndale! I really, really wish I had the time to come and visit Yarndale!! But everything is busy here - I started work after my maternity leave again and routines are not quite settled at the moment ;-)

Sara Jenkins

Good luck Lucy. I'm looking forward to seeing all the wonderful Yarndale photos this year, as I can't make it to the event. I am sure it will be wonderful. x

Nice photos! :-) I would looovee to come to Yarndale! Sighs, I just wish the way wasn't so long... Have a lot of fun and enjoy all the yarny godness!

Hi Lucy, really looking forward to meeting you on Saturday. I've booked on the beginners crochet workshop so hopefully this time next year I'll have some creations of my own.

I hope you finish everything and that it looks just perfect as you envisioned it, I'm almost done with my ripple blanket - inspired by yours of course- and just posted about it. I wish I could be there for Yarndale, but I will be on spirit and in my heart. Can't wait to hear all about it. Have fun Lucy.

Have a spectacular yarn Dale! While you are busy there, I will be at a flock and fiber festival in Oregon but I will be thinking of you and hoping you are having a great time. Much love and best wishes to one of my favorite inspirations. Beth

Get some much needed peaceful sleep my darling...xo

I love the old architecture in your town..so beautiful! This area of Englandlooks so quaint and I really hope to visit this area some day :) Good luck with all the busy things up ahead, and hope you can at least sit down for a nice cup of tea!

I am sure Yarndale will be a huge success. I love your photos and your flowers from the market. I bought a bunch of marked down tulips from the shop yesterday and thought of you. Bringing them home brought me much happiness and even more happy that they were half price so I could afford them. I am so glad you inspired me to do something like that. Thank you.

Oh, Lucy, I can't believe Yarndale is here again already! I live in NY or I'd be there. Lovely pics, as always. Love the view of your patio - such a happy, beautiful spot. Have a wonderful Yarndale week-end. xoxo

Lucky, such an exciting time for you! I so wish I could be there at YD.. but I'm here in Oregon and it's just too far. But I am glad you share it with those of us who cannot join in the fun. I'm sure you will have a blast, and then I hope you get some well-deserved rest time. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

Wishing all the best for Yarndale Lucy. It sounds like you are tired but you do make an awful lot if people very happy with your colourful cheery positive posts. Sorry I can't be there bit hope it is everything you wish it to be and more. Can't wait to read and see lots of photos about it Much love ❤️

Lucy, just love your page.. Attic 24. Love how you describe what you are seeing. It makes me feel as if I were there. I live in Florida in the USA. I would love to be where you are. I too crochet. Not to the extent you do. Sunday baking. what is the recipe for those lovely little cakes. Looks typically English. Hope Yarndale goes well for you, You have been working so hard.. Happy Fall

The sound of church bells is a sound of home and one that I took for granted for years. I miss the sound living in Oz! Enjoy the little things of English life! Your Strawberry butterfly cakes look delicious! I hope Yarndale goes well. I wish I could visit. I've told my sister about it.

Patchwork Fairy

You can get through it Lucy! And keep your sanity to boot! Can not wait to see Yarndale photos, but I am sure we all will understand if you do not post them on Monday next. ;-) Have fun and take plenty if photos to share the next week or two or three...

Love your sweet and well loved little garden. We have moved to a small home with a very small back garden from something else very large and green as everything in life it had gone from a dream come true to nightmare when my husband became ill. Today I am inspired by all the lovely blooms in your pretty English garden. Hugs

Best wishes with all that entails Yarndale. I look forward to "hearing" and seeing all about it (S-o wish I could attend.). And I hope you manage to get some much needed rest!XXXXXXXXXXX

Harsh. She's not 'telling everybody'; she's telling people who look at her blog. I like those pictures! Seems a weird place to pick that fairly hurtful fight. You want her to feel guilty for buying flowers? Odd.

Oh Dear Lucy, we all so look forward to seeing you this weekend and enjoying Yarndale, it is easy for us to forget how exhausting and exhilarating it must be for you and the team. Just remember - it will be an amazing weekend and you only have few days left. When the weekend is over you will be able to readjust, reconnect to your routine, recuperate and return to some kind of normality again- hopefully getting time to reflect on and enjoy the success. I am looking forwards to seeing you again very soon.
Big hug, Karen :O)Xx
