About Me

  • Thank you so much for visiting me in the Attic, it's lovely to see you. My name is Lucy and I'm a happily married Mum with three children. We live in a cosy terraced house on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales in England which we are slowly renovating and making home. I have a passion for crochet and colour and love to share my creative journey. I hope you enjoy your peek into my colourful little world x

I've been toying with the idea of crocheting a rug but wasn't sure what yarn to use. I'm going to be at Yarndale so I'll have a look at this Texere stand. Can't wait!

Wow, look at all those cones of yarn! And the colourful collage or moodboard things in the picnic area! Great photos. It looks like an inspiring place.

Amazing colours! If only I had the patience for something bigger than a hat. Loving the idea of a 'granny rug' but I'd probably BE a granny by the time I finished it!

Oh Lucy, what fun and wonderful that you are becoming "Famous" outside the blogging/crochet field. I loved those colours and when you mentioned rug I got really excited. I would love some really good yarn to make a rug that I have in mind. I am hoping this mill has a web page but I am betting the postage to Australia would be awful. Oh how I wish I still lived in Yorkshire.

Wow, that rug yarn. Double wow!

Hi Lucy! Oh what a wonderful place and how fabulous that so many came to visit with you.. I sure would have been there if I could. We're back from our 13 day camping trip. It took me 4 hours to do my blog post! I hope you go visit - I made a new bunting with all the colors of the rainbow for our shade canopy at camp.. very "Lucy-esque!" I missed your blog while gone! We were off the grid.. no electricity or internet! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

I will have to put Texere on my bucket list.
When I go to UK. I am doing some research
at the moment into some creative interest shops
to visit. I would appreciate any suggestions.I will be
there in middle Dec to Jan.
I can understand your explosion of excitement being
at Texere.

Oh my how I would love to get my hands on some of that Axminster yarn - I lust after a home filled with Axminster carpet but to make my own would be so much more fun!

They do have some lovely stuff, some very unusual yarns too. Well done for doing the talk!

Pom Pom

I bet they loved having a yarn wizard such as yourself touring their store! I love all the ideas you have! Floors! That's amazing! Yes!

Oh, wonderful - I've had their yarn and other things in the past...sumptious colours, I can see why you swooned...and the carpet stuff, augh, want it now!

We had a lovely day out. Great to meet you and admire your work. Lots of inspiration, my head is spinning with lists of new projects!

What a lovely day out Lucy - I shall have to pop in and visit when I next head up that way.

Oooooh what a visit! I have so many cones of Texere Yarn (of varying types) which I have bought at quilt shows and the Knitting and Stitching show over the years. I'd love to have the opportunity of visiting the mill. Glad your 'appearance ' went well!

Oooo!!! Will definitely be stopping by their exhibit at Yarndale! *skips off clapping*

Oh this place looks perfect. I could spend many an hour browsing here. Wonderful. I am glad your presentation went well. How lovely to be invited to such an event.

What an amazing place, I can feel my pulse rate rising just imagining a visit. I do love a sensational yarn shop. I'm glad your appearance went well, I imagine everyone had a wonderful time. I shall look forward to seeing a rug or two in the Attic one day... CJ xx

I love Texere a lot, I went to uni in Bradford and had the pleasure of wondering all over the mill contemplating what I'd like to make with both the fancy yarn and the mill ends that were on the top floor. It really is a yarny paradise!

Sadly, Wool Warehouse doesn't offer free shipping to Canada. Your former supplier offers to ship free on orders over $60.00

Oh my word. A proper feast for the eyes. I can see why you enjoyed it so much

Ooooo, as soon as you mentioned "rug yarn", I wanted to start a rug for somewhere in the house! Can't wait to see what your creative mind comes up with.
