#1 ♥ sorting out my yarn bag to take to knit n natter on Friday morning and finding a handful of beach treasure sat in the bottom under all the yarn....happy holiday memories.
#2 ♥ knit n natter at the café on Friday was so enjoyable, it was lovely to get together with good friends and to meet some new yarny ladies too. The knit and crochet cakes in the basket are part of a a yarn bomb we're working on for Yarndale, in case you were wondering!
#3 ♥ my back yard is thriving in all the rain we've had lately, it looks lush and green, if a bit drippy. Can you see my passion flower merrily growing along the washing line?
#4 ♥ a new tea towel which I bought to hang on the kitchen door rather than to wipe wet things with. I just love the sentiment as well as that beautiful duck egg blue colour. From Freya Art on Etsy.
#5 ♥ Finishing my third Yarndale banner and loving the look of it. I made white Moogly crochet letters stitched onto rainbow granny squares, using Stylecraft Special DK yarn. Oh, and I got new crocs too, half price in the summer sale :)
#6 ♥ new handmade soap from one of my favourite local shops in town, it really does smell Fragrant and Totally Luscious.
#7 ♥ today I had lots of work to do on my laptop and the Little People have been super good occupying themselves and playing games together. They rearranged the furniture and built two "blanket camper vans" which made me so happy to see!
#8 ♥ playing with my ripple blankets and taking some new photos. I think, there might be a Ta-dah moment coming very, very soon for that gorgeous Coast blanket....tomorrow could be the day!!
#9 ♥ taking a pile of clean laundry up to the Attic and spotting a beautiful rainbow arcing over the town.
#10 ♥ sky gazing, always a pleasure of mine. It's been stormy here today and cold too, I really, really hope that summer comes back to play for just a little bit longer.
xx
I'm really enjoying these gentle summer days spent at home with the Little People, a satisfying balance of work and play, of idleness and busy-ness. Friends call by, we go out to run errands, but mostly we are happy just being here, enjoying life's little pleasures.
xx
I started a wavy ripply blanket months ago and its still not finished. I've lost interest a little, so I'm going to try and get it completed!

Lucy, love your posts. You seem to make time to smell the roses and enjoy the little things in life. Are you able to tell us the colours you have used in your seaside ripple. I think I have several of the colours but would need to top up on those I haven't got rather than buying the pack this time. Your help would be appreciated.

I agree with you, Lucy, that it is sometimes the smallest things that give us the greatest pleasure. I love the remnants of your holiday at the bottom of your yarn bag, your yarndale banner and your new crocs. And I love that your children made vans out of the blankets - imaginative and creative like their mom! Have a wonderful day. Susan

Hi Lucy,
Just to say that I have not just shelved the Watermelon idea 😀 We are caring for it in our polytunnel and will deliver it as and when we get to Saltaire.
I have Multiple Sclerosis and the Summer has not been such a good one for me.
Loving the delights of your posts, as always, and our granddaughter reaches for our iPad as soon as she arrives here to check out 'Your lovely friend at ATTIC24'! Her favourite description of you and your posts, ideas and photos is 'She/that/they are grand!' Children are fabulous aren't they?
She is learning to crochet and is progressing at a far faster rate than I am ... My hands have reduced sensation due to my MS and don't move as fast as or where I want them to. Extremely frustrating!
I'll message you when we are coming up ... if we can manage it, we would love to have a break in the area, so will see how I am.
Thanks for the delights of all you do,
Big love

sorting out my late mothers belongings. She was always trying out new crafts but really expert at knitting and sewing - even made my dads jackets! I have found several pieces of embroidery that I had not seen before besides all the framed ones. It is so good to be able to celebrate - albeit very quietly - her creativity, in the midst of the sadness.
So thank you Lucy for reminding me to look at the sunshine, to enjoy my own making and all the pleasures of family and friends. and Facebook too!!

No more hanging out the washing, me thinks. The knit and natter is brillant, they taught my kids finger knitting and my youngest sewing. It's such a joy to be going, even though with kids around don't get much done. It's such a joy reading the attic 24.

Rainbow! I haven't seen one in so long. Those stormy skies look eerily gorgeous, though. I'm kind of enjoying the chilly summer myself! :)
