About Me

  • Hello! Thank you so much for visiting me in the Attic, it's lovely to see you. My name is Lucy and I'm a happily married Mum with three children. We live in a cosy terraced house on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales in England which we are slowly renovating and making home. I have a passion for crochet and colour and love to share my creative journey. I hope you enjoy your peek into my colourful little world x

Summer was made for pootling, especially in beautiful Dorset x

We have those stripey snails in Lancashire too. Thanks for the sharing, gives me a chance to escape into your lovely world.

Isn't pootling the most perfect way to live life ,I certainly enjoyed this pootle with you Lucy ,i sat relaxed just as you said with me cuppa and a bacon sarnie and let myself get drawn in to your lovely life, can't wait for round 2 x

Now that is a Holiday... One with a capital letter "h" !

Aren't holidays wonderful? We have a whole garden full of those stripy snails and live just outside York! I'd never seen them before moving to this house but they are definitely all over and love to crawl on our front door for some reason. They are so pretty that if they didn't eat all my flowers I would keep them around.

Wonderful Lucy, I feel more relaxed just reading your post. Your Little B sounds a lot like my littlest boy, quite a force to be reckoned with and impossible to ignore. He keeps us all on our toes. Mine is six now, and still grazing his knees, crying REALLY loudly and making a huge fuss if he doesn't get his own way. I totally get the amazingness of the newly hatched moth, how fantastic to have witnessed that moment. A beautiful post, your photos are lovely as ever. CJ xx

I'm there with you on the Pootling Lucy - you just can't beat a good Pootle !

Thank you Lucy for your beautiful photographs of West Bay,my favourite place!
You've made my heart smile :-)

You have cheered up my commute on the train! Lovely story. Thank you.

perfect - I think you should venture into being a children's storybook writer too Lucy - you are exceptionally gifted with words! xx

Oooh, so many of the things you mention are in my daily life ... I've recently seen a Jersey Tiger Moth whilst doing a sponsored walk here in Jersey ... I'd never seen one before despite living in Jersey for ... Well most of my life and had to take a photo. We also have flowery boats and some cafes on the beach. I love living by the sea but miuss the wide open spaces of the UK every now and again. Love your holiday posts. Emma x

I do pootling and mooching too, and love it! Thank you for sharing such lovely posts, and your photographs are just glorious xxx

Lovely wonderful family time... I just absolutely understand and love those days with your own family and your parents... Such great memories. My family lives in Brasil and I just love when we can go back and visit them... So many unforgettable moments. I bet you just feel so energized and so close to them at every visit. I'm glad you get to go twice a year. What a blessing Lucy.

Hurrah and welcome back to Dorset! What brilliant weather we are having too! :)

There should be more pootling in the world.
May be then it would not be so crazy.
See you tomorrow , Lucy.

Ahhh...heavenly! I am a great believer in pootling too, far less demanding than pottering which, I feel, always implies that something however small WILL be achieved - oh the pressure! 😄 Am looking forward to the next instalment.

Oh my I love your post, oh to pootle in Dorset! Maybe one day I can visit this beautiful place where you grew up! It's a long way from Austin Texas but a girl can dream!

Lucy, sounds like you and your family are having a wonderful summer. Just want to say how much I enjoy all of your posts. Would love to visit your part of the world, it just looks heavenly!

Yes, more pooling tomorrow! What a lovely time you had. Those really are the best kind of holidays - not too rushed, not having to visit a million different places. So glad you had good weather, too x

I love 'pootling' as you call it...it is now one of my favorite words! Thank you so much for sharing your holiday...it will be the only one I have this year. LOL Hugs, MO

Beautiful pictures.

*magic*...... thank you xoxo

Looks like a wonderful, wonderful trip! I live a couple of hours away from my parents since last year and I totally get how one tried to make the most of the short face to face time! Wouldn't it be lovely if someone invented beaming already?!
I am currently traveling Canada with little internet connection but i am really looking forward to read all of your posts i missed!
take care

Pure heaven Luc!

Beautiful blog Lucy. I could hear those seagulls and breathe in the salt air. Leisurely days are a requirement of holidays. I think you gave us 10 minutes to slow down and soak up what is around us and be thankful for what we have. Awaiting uour next instalment.
