About Me

  • Hello! Thank you so much for visiting me in the Attic, it's lovely to see you. My name is Lucy and I'm a happily married Mum with three children. We live in a cosy terraced house on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales in England which we are slowly renovating and making home. I have a passion for crochet and colour and love to share my creative journey. I hope you enjoy your peek into my colourful little world x

Oh bless you Lucy for sharing your Summer Solstace with us!! Here in France they always celebrate this day with a Music Festival - local bands playing on stages around the town!! It was a bit more special for us this year as our son's band was playing the main stage - it was such a great feeling - it doesn't seem that long since he was little B's age!! So we did go out - but that's rare for us - had a lovely night!!

We sat out with candles and drinks as well. So lovely! x

Like you I loved being outside this lovely evening enjoying the extended daylight while there was yet more football-watching going on indoors! I really felt It was important to mark the solstice today for some reason.

I love the blanket you are making.
Yes summer is here and kids out of school...
Have a great week end

Can't wait to see the ripple ta dah! Happy solstice. Xx

I love your back yard. I'm glad you haven't whitewashed the walls. So nice leaving the stone just as it should be.
Mmmm, understand your frustration with your other half....I'm married to a Yorkshire man too!

happy Solstice!Living 3 miles from Stonehenge means we get the whole solstice thing going on. Unfortunately it also makes travelling quite difficult the day before! Watched the sunrise from the hill behind our house, then watched it set from our garden this evening. Glorious!

Happy Solstice, I went out this morning with my camera and took some photo's of the flowers in the Summerhouse garden and made a solstice mosiac, blinky footie drives you mad, crochet and candles so much more appealing

A very happy Solstice to you as well. It's coming in with a bang here in the form of thunder storms, one after another all afternoon, needless to say our plans were changed as well. Although the lowering of the temp was a nice relief after a few days of 90's and high humidity. A lazy day about the house listening to it rain and watching old movies, then soon a bit of hooky on the porch.

Ditto Lucy xx lots of love Joy xx

Know the feeling all too well Lucy, but thanks to you and your inspiration I too did some crochet into the evening outside and marvelled at the peaceful life I lead. Indeed we are SO lucky, to be here in this time and place.

Your Yorkshire man will make it up to you! Enjoy and thanks for posting.

Thank you so much for your wonderful tutorials. Thanks to you I'm making cute little flowers and birds and leaves when I had given up crochet long ago because I could never get past making a square! I'm having so much fun.
I want to send you a "coffe" donation but am a little confused with the process. Does it convert to dollars when you donate so I understand the amount?

Happy SS to you too,
Bev K

Happy Solstice :-) We had a rather fitting Winter Solstice in Wellington, New Zealand yesterday - cloudy and gloomy for part of the day but at night the clouds dispersed and the stars shone brightly. We went to a friends house and ate slow cooked jacket potatoes and toasted marshmallows on her fire. It was lovely :-)

Happy Summer Solstice! :)
