About Me

  • Hello! Thank you so much for visiting me in the Attic, it's lovely to see you. My name is Lucy and I'm a happily married Mum with three children. We live in a cosy terraced house on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales in England which we are slowly renovating and making home. I have a passion for crochet and colour and love to share my creative journey. I hope you enjoy your peek into my colourful little world x

Simply Crochet was super smart in snatching you up! We love REAL people!!

Also.... I <3 Bert!! What a character!

I LOVE the bunting! Also very cool to see those behind the scenes pictures, they sure did an amazing job :)

Wow ! Lucy a lot is happening in your crochet life since your little studio, how wonderful ! I just wonder if that nosy cat goes back to report on what he/she sees LOL !!!When around kids a lot our imagination tends to wander...Izzy

Great post Lucy, so full of inspiration. Love all those colour combos, just gorgeous.

Both buntings are beautiful! (With blue being one of my all time favorites, I'd have to pick the blue bunting as my fave.)lol Love seeing the behind the scenes photos. You know, those triangles would also make a pretty pillow stitched together. I too have found it hard to photograph bunting, here's my attempt- https://www.flickr.com/photos/craftygal/8474145302/in/set-72157632417301524 It always amazes me at how different things turn out by the color choices we make. Have fun playing with color!

Oh Lucy this is lovely.....very summery, very you! :) x

Absolutely loved this post...each bunting is amazing and very pretty...all the yarnny goodness in this post does give great inspiration and makes one want to run and grab the hooks.

Oh this is amazing! What a lovely decoration and all those colours! The "behind the scene" pic actually made me giggle. I did think they really shot it in some houses and rooms and stuff, but then, where would all the magazines find so many lovely places? :-)

That looks like really good fun colour play there... I think I like the spicy warm combinations best but the petrel blue is calling me. I rather think I need some bunting for my gazebo.....

Beautiful as always! Another color combination of Stylecraft DK is Shrimp, Sunshine, Meadow and Mocha. That wonderful coral (shrimp) color gets overlooked far too often!

Love the bunting. Love Bert too -- he has good taste.

These colors are good for the soul! Perhaps the folks at Stylecraft will be inspired to add those colors to the chunky line as well; they would indeed make beautiful cushions! For the record, I think your photos of the bunting in and around your home were lovely. Thank you for your hard work!

Oh Lucy - Beautiful! Especially love the Blue Bunting (but that is because blues and greens are old favorites). You make it all look so special. Someday I'll have to take a crochet hook to hand again instead of using them to turn corners of my sewing projects. Just LOVE your work and ALWAYS enjoy your blogs.

Love the bunting and I love Bert - I think he was meant to be there!
The photo could be a book cover - 'Bert and the Bunting'- Once upon a time there was a cat called Bert who liked to visit his neighbour Lucy....

Those colors look fantastic together, I'm normally drawn to the blues and greens but I love the other colors you chose as well, thanks so much for the inspiration! <3

Hello Lucy! Your blog was one of my sources of inspiration to start me in the world of the blogosphere. Your projects are very inspiring. I love them! Thank you for all the inspiration you share with us. Once again here is a unique and very beautiful work. Congratulations on the article! only pity not having the magazine in Portugal ... a happy weekend and kisses (sorry my english...)

Love the blue bunting! And so cool to see the behind-the-scenes creation of the magazine photo.

The colour combos are just so pretty to look at. It's been ages since I bought anymore yarn, I haven't crafted a thing since Easter because my elbow has been so incredibly painful, but today I've tried a little crochet and it's ok, so far.
My magazine arrived a while ago this morning, I shall turn to the pattern and have a little try at some bunting perhaps. It's a sweet design.

Happy bank holiday to you.

That bunting is absolutely beautiful! :)

This is just lovely! I've been wanting to make some bunting for a while, and this looks like the perfect design :) (Im-)Patiently waiting for Thursday and Simply Crochet coming out!

Your new color combos almost have a retro feel to me. I believe it is the pale rose, grape and gold that give off that vibe.

The Bert shot was da bomb.
Was a little puzzled, then shocked about the manipulation of reality in the professional photo shoot. Aren't any pictures just ordinary reality any more? Oh well...
Still, THIS is the bunting I will make!

What a delightful feast for the eyes & hooky heart! Oh, those color combinations - each one is as scrumptious as the previous one...
We just received issue 18 yesterday here in the US, it's hard being a month behind. I always turn to your column immediately, when a smile spreads across my face! It's my favorite part of the magazine!!! :)
Hope your weekend is simply wonderful!
Hugs & love!
