Oh Lucy. I had the same feeling when I saw them. I have just finished mine and I'm fizzing with pride at such a beautiful work of art!!! Thank you for sharing.

Gail

I am trying to make the neat ruffle afghan in US could you please tell me what stitch is used? Yours looks so different and also the ply of yarn and the hook for the afghan. How many skeins of yarn do I need for 48 X 60 inches?

Jess.

Those are so beautiful. So beautiful, I want to cry. I am envisioning them as the tops of 3-legged stools.

Gaynor

Absolutely stunning...like you said I now have ants in my pants to do one too...Thank You!

Shanda

Yes, they are absolutely gorgeous!!

Ada Bea

They are fabulous, can't wait to see that display! We've been very busy and I'm only just catching up with everyone's blogs! Off to read more :) x

Dearest Lucy, what an amazing mandala. I have tried a smaller one and am off to the site to catch this one. The dream catcher idea is awesome, I can see them and I'm hoping I will get to see them in person as my travel plans have had to be changed as I've buggered my knee.(please excuse my language). I will email you as I obviously won't be able to make the workshop in June. Bummer! But Yarndale would be even better, so here's hoping they can fix my knee pronto. Much love and blessings, Trills.xx

Silly Little Sheep

They are absolutely adorable. I can picture them on pillows or simply put on the wall as decorations or as doilies... Wow, you are so clever with hook!!

Jess

Wow! So intricate and so pretty! I thought of you and your colours when I went to the Kaffe fassett exhibition recently. I did a blogpost about it if you'd like to see. :)

As soon as I saw Zelna's pattern I had to make one too. Love them and, yes, they are whoppers!
I see she has a new pattern "Rainbow Vermicelli" think I need to make that too.

cheryl

those are beautiful

Eska

This is a beautiful pattern. Thank you for sharing your experience with it. It's so PRETTY!

joan

The two look so different, because of the color choices. The first one has a small defined center, and the choice of dark colors outside of that on the second one make the center larger and different. It's something that is hard to see with just the pattern, but something to keep in mind. The visual example makes it totally clear.

Oh, I totally know that have-to-start-it-immediately feeling all too well!! It's the best feeling ever. And it's contagious too, I hear. :) These mandalas are ABSOLUTELY gorgeous. I'm glad you posted the pic of them side by side as your feet give me a better idea of how big they are! They will be beautiful hanging from the ceiling.

Iriis

Wooow! It's so, so, so beautiful and colourful! Magic :)))

Birgitta

Yes! I can see it and cant wait for the post from that upcoming event since I wont be able to make it, I will have to wait for the blog version :)

Your mandalas look great!

Wow, such beautiful bursts of colour! I can imagine just how happy you are feeling right now! They will look really awesome hung up at Yarndale. Just such a super idea. How many will you make? I can imagine they are pretty addictive. So many wonderful colour possibilities........

Have a super week Lucy

Take care

Your Mandalas are beautiful! I tell you, I was close to throwing mine in the bin several times on round 8 (it's going to haunt me!!) BUT, after staring at your photos for an afternoon, I figured out what to do and now I'm on round 14. Wish me luck :)

Lisa Wallace

Hi There,
So you aren't going to ask for helpers to make many mandala's for you this year? Remember the bunting call out last year? Imagine...

Mitsa Xida

beautiful starflower mantala!

melissa

I'm making stool covers from mandalas. don't take ages and puts a bit a joy in the room.

Christa scheepmans

Dear Lucy,
Can you please tell me what colours you used for your beautiful mandala piece?
Here in Belgium they're difficult to find.
greetings! Christa

Ruth

Gorgeous gorgeous... I'm going to check these patterns out and may be try my hands on them too... Thanks for sharing... Have a great week.

Cathy Jupp

How did you hide the ends on such an openwork piece please?

Rachael Iddon

They are absolutely stunning. I don't know if anyone else has already commented, here or on Facebook but mandalas are used for meditation in yoga. Maybe I need some for *my* yoga classes. I sometimes give my students flowers or pebbles to concentrate on but a set of mega mandalas would be wonderful. Anyway, I bet your mind was completely one-pointed as you made them! Crochet is just another way to calm the mind.
