About Me

  • Thank you so much for visiting me in the Attic, it's lovely to see you. My name is Lucy and I'm a happily married Mum with three children. We live in a cosy terraced house on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales in England which we are slowly renovating and making home. I have a passion for crochet and colour and love to share my creative journey. I hope you enjoy your peek into my colourful little world x

The table full of yarn is like a work of art.

When I (one day) get to England I will move mountains to come to one of your workshops. Your blog lifts my heart and inspires me. Must run - time to put my first loaf of artisan bread in the oven :-)

Hope it all went well Lucy. Sounds fab :)

I teach crochet classes and I love all that windy wool preparation. I always feel like I am walking on air after everyone leaves. What a job! I have finished my infinity scarf but I am finding it hard to write the pattern down. Jo x

Helen

I hope the workshop has been a rip roaring success Lucy and that your ladies have had a fab time creating with you. I only wish I lived nearer....

Jo Navin

Hi Lucy, I just read your post and so now your workshop is finished, I'm sure that those lucky ladies had a wonderful time, I hope you enjoyed it too. I think it is good to step outside our comfort zones and that you were probably nervous because you care very much, which is all good too! I love all the little cards of yarn and as for the table full of yarn cakes, were you tempted to dive in and do a sort of colourful yarn surf? I would have been :-)
Rachael, if you search "all about ami, easy ribbed beanie hat", she does a tutorial taken from a Lion Brand pattern. It uses UK double crochet, although they refer to it as single crochet which is the US equivalent. I know it's not quite what you were looking for, but it looks good because it's worked as a flat piece then sewn up, and you can adjust the size. I hope that helps, good luck! Jo xx

Lucy, if you are half as witty fun and gorgeous in your workshop as you are here on your blog, then it will be a huge success. You are such a delightful person to be with and quite the capable crafty person. Best of luck.

Thank you for all your postings. I really enjoy reading/seeing them and getting inspiration for new projects. I made several of your "birds" with the long dangling legs and we all love them! They just make us smile. Wish I could come to your workshops, too, but live too far away in WI, USA.

Hello! Wondering whether you, Lucy, or anyone else would have a pattern for a bobble hat (loose slouchy type design) made of trebles. I'm just starting out, and broke off from Lucy's glorious Granny blanket to make myself a scarf to match my new coat. I wore it last night, it's colourful and funky!! I adore it!! Haha! Need a matching hat now though. Boo - I can't make that up from scratch. I'm too new :( Can anyone pleeease help?! x

You will be fine. By the time you read this comment the workshop will be over, you'll feel on top of the world. Well done. I just think of the lovely words of encouragement that you gave me before my first workshop the other day in Yarn.

I bet they had a wonderful time xx
