About Me

  • Hello! Thank you so much for visiting me in the Attic, it's lovely to see you. My name is Lucy and I'm a happily married Mum with three children. We live in a cosy terraced house on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales in England which we are slowly renovating and making home. I have a passion for crochet and colour and love to share my creative journey. I hope you enjoy your peek into my colourful little world x

The weather is truly crazy isn't it, we had gales here in Cambs UK too, nearly lost our carport with our vintage camper in it :-/ Spring will be here soon, do not fear ...... I CANNOT wait :-)

Kathy

Okay - so maybe you managed to resist squeeeee-ing at us, but just so you know there is squealing going on here at the prospect of a new Attic24 bag!
Oh no, is it too soon to order chunky - my two Attic24 packs for granny stripe blankets only arrived last week and that represents quite a lot of hooky.

Katie

Cygnet yarns quite nice ;) for chunky x

Hi Lucy,

Its getting warmer where I live. Crocheting is most fun when its cold.. :)

That's a beautiful color scheme!! BTW, your FB page just got an additional like.. :) I would be honored to have you visit mine.. :)

Have a great week

Anne Marie

I can just 'smell the coffee' and know exactly what you mean, having a Nespresso too, (we've discussed this). Your poached egg picture makes me want to make one right now!

I would love to try some Blue Faced Leicester Aran, which appears to look rather chunky too. If you wanted cheap chunky but not cheap cheap yarn, look at my favourite local Yarn barn The Black Sheep, who have all sorts of fantastic yarn on very very good offers at the moment, particularly the chunky stuff, as Spring is hopefully on the not too far horizon.

Snow! Wow! All we have had is rain and rain and rain. The hooking looks good. Will enjoy seeing the bag. I have only been crocheting hearts and the mood blanket. But it has been great fun. Pop over! http://eclectichomelife.blogspot.co.uk/2014/02/valentines-and-crafting.html?m=1

Hi Lucy,
I discovered your blog only about two weeks ago, as I was searching for a ripple pattern to use in two blankets destined for two handmade doll cradles (courtesy of my handy husband) for our just about two-year-old daughter and her cousin.
Thank you for brightening my world with your warm-hearted accounts of your life and crafts. We live on Vancouver Island, BC, Canada, but I grew up in Germany. Your pictures of the cobblestoned streets, centuries-old homes and checker-board fields on your beloved hills make my heart ache for the tidiness and history of Europe, but also make me take a loving look at the details of our wilder version of things here.
You are an inspiration. Thank you. I hope you have a wonderful start to the week! Hanna

Daffodils, Wales' national flower, my favourite :) I love the colours in that chunky blanket, really cosy. I think a stripe blanket like this will be my next project. I must finish this on first though haha!

James C Brett chunky is ok to use and not expensive. I used it to make an infinity scarf for my sister.

Lucy you constantly make my day. Thank you so much xxx

Having completed a crocheted storage basket bag thingy this week, I have been inspired to do a granny striped blanket. Going well, apart from the ache in my forearm from too much hooky xx looking forward to seeing your new bag xx

Megan

Can't wait to see the new bag design!! :)
