Thanks for this, and all your inspiring posts. I'm looking forward to reading the magazine, and seeing how the new year flows for us all.
Best Wishes, Jane C

I'm planning to store my decorations today but I'm telling you I'm already bored and tired of them.I want a fresh, simple and clean start to the new year.I wish that all your plans for new year will be fruitful.

I have to admit, I let out quite a loud squeak when I saw your face peeping out of Simply Crochet! I loved your article and am so tickled pink for you - I can't begin to imagine how you must feel!

Permission to hang around magazine counters claiming you are my 'famous friend'?!!! ;-)

Hi Lucy, I always take my decorations down on new years eve, it was when my nan took hers down and I now do the same. It always reminds me of how I used to help her. Lovely to read all about your day, the house always seems bigger when the tree is put away. I look forward to reading your column tomorrow when I go and get my simply crochet. All the very best for 2014 x

What a lovely post Lucy as always, can't wait to read your lovely words in the magazine, am itching to get my hands on it. I am wrestling myself at this moment with all the lights, decorations and cards and cannot wait to have the house back to normal once again. Have a lovely Sunday, big hugs to you and your wonderful family

Dear Lucy, had to smile at your comment about the tomato growing in the rundown conservatory; don't you mean charming period conservatory?
Just I lived somewhere that had a conservatory that sounded like yours. Ours had old flowerpots (er I mean vintage clay pots) and grimy glass windows.
Back to work on Monday(only for the morning) so on the way home I can purchase a copy Simply Crochet!
Looking forward to a creative colourful 2014.!
And following your posts. x
PS Really dark and rainy here. Off for a cup of tea.

The feeling of your head being 'oh so busy' is one that resonates firmly with me! Lovely post, I,m admiring all your crochet work and congrats on appearing in 'Simply Crochet' :-)

Happy 2014 Lucy. My decs came down too, and now the house seems rather pale. I shall hunker down with a hook in front of the fire this afternoon .... and a magazine me thinks ....Simply Crochet :-)

So glad you had a nice break, I look forward to reading about your ideas!

Hiya Lucy! I must admit I don't often leave you comments which is quite shameful really as I read your blog the most and you taught me about 95% of everything I know about crocheting :D Just wanted to say Happy New Year to you & your family, I hope 2014 is just as exciting, that you get to spend more time in the Studio, have a good balance between home life and crafty life and that if Yarndale goes ahead again it's even better :D

Much love x

Hello Lucy,
Lovely post - I totally get what you mean about winding down but the excitement of things ahead as well. Yes, its a big job taking all the decorations down isn't it, but I too was ready for it this year. Ita all about the build up and the anticipation for me , so I'm always ready to clear away and refresh in the week after Christmas.
LOVE your blue spotty mug with the little heart - soooo sweet !
Happy Sunday,
Kate x
