About Me

  • Hello! Thank you so much for visiting me in the Attic, it's lovely to see you. My name is Lucy and I'm a happily married Mum with three children. We live in a cosy terraced house on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales in England which we are slowly renovating and making home. I have a passion for crochet and colour and love to share my creative journey. I hope you enjoy your peek into my colourful little world x

Dear Lucy and all of you who love Lucy and read her blogs:

Lovely wreath !
Your poncho is looking beautiful!

Pretty photos! Weather has been nice and warm here in the southwest U.S. It is supposed to cool off and rain a bit tomorrow, so enjoying the sun today. Planning our holiday food (no bit fuss, but yummy!) and enjoying that!

I also enjoy the happy colors of your poncho. Very much your style!Your Christmas wreath is delight, too.

We've had quite a few days of grey gloom too. Isn't it nice to see the sun shining again! I love the photo of the shop window ~ just beautiful, and of course your colorful hooky stuff. :-)

I don't know how you do it but you have a natural ability to showcase the world in a beautiful magical way! thank you

So glad you have lots to enjoy, and also lots to look forward to.I'm sure there will be lots of excitment in your house next week!!
I've just come back from enjoying a few days at the Christmas markets in Germany. They were all so beautiful, so many lovely things to see, lots and lots of twinkly lights, lovely foods (and drinks!), beautiful shops and decorations....I could go on and on. If any of your readers are thinking about going, DO IT!! you won't be disappointed. A very merry Christmas to all of you. xx

Hi Lucy,
Your photos are gorgeous! I especially love the Apothecary window - it reminds me of a Charles Dickens scene, just beautiful! Also love your pretty wreath and of coarse the beautiful canal. Thanks for sharing your lovely pictures with us! Wishing you and your family a very Merry Christmas!

and that should read "commute" but my fingers have a mind of their own!!

Communte? - its not a communte unless you're going to a place of work...

I have used your pattern for the lacy stars to embellish a crochet blanket for my granddaughter, its looking quite impressive. Thank you for sharing.

Oh Lucy, Another lovely post. Would it be possible to do a little tutorial on how to start a poncho. I'm hooked!!!!!! It is just so cheery. Love that canal, so very restful. We are going to sing carols at the local aged care facility tomorrow afternoon and when I get home I will pull out my FAKE tree and start to decorate. I'm always way behind at Christmas but I always seem to get there.
Blessings Gail

So many things to enjoy and be grateful for x

Stunning shop window! Thanks for sharing.
I was wondering - how much time it takes to choose colour for the next row in your poncho? It's always so difficult for me to work with many colours, I ponder quite a lot over each row. Are you picking colours at random?

I regularly look at your blog because it makes me smile and it's a very richly rewarding blog to visit..I can't crochet to save my life but I really enjoy the colours of your work and life!
Thank you for taking the trouble to share and I'm sending you and yours lots of Good wishes for a very Happy Christmas and New Year!

Always enjoy seeing the canal. Lots of snow in my area, making for a festive holiday season. I was just thinking about your crocheted stars tonight and how I would like them to hang on my tree!

We have had had a few dismal monochromatic gray days & sunshine as well here. Some days have been so dark, so yes sunshine & blue skies are so cheery and uplifting! Guess what...I'm crocheting Lucy daffodils for a spring wreath!!! They are addictive!. Hugs, MO

Lucy, I do like the way in which you've been adding a bit of Christmas cheer to your home...with your own distinctive flair of adding a touch here and there to what might be not quite so pretty left to its original appearance.

Happy Christmas! xo

You are living in a beatiful environment, i love your pictures, they give me a happy fealing. All those bright colours are nice. It is so nice to read your blog. Whising you warm and lovely christmasdays, whith love, Els.

That poncho is looking gorgeous! Love the wreath, sadly it would probably get pinched off our front door. I keep asking if I can have one on the inside instead but OH just evades the question....guess that's a no then!

Amy at love made my home

Your wearable blanket is looking very good Lucy. Love your wreath as well, all the colours of Lucy on there!! xx

Lots of joy here. I too have been enjoying glimpsing clear, bright skies and fresh Christmassy decorations
