We moved here to number 24 at the very end of November 2007, just over six years ago now. From the very first time we stepped into this house, I was captivated by the attic room under the eaves with it's stunning view from the front dormer window. I love that I can see so much sky from up here and that the light, clouds, weather and seasons seem so much more vivid when they play out across a window of familiar landscape.
If you've been visiting me here in the Attic for any length of time, then this view will be very familiar to you by now, just as it is to me. I photograph it dozens of times during the course of a year, in all weathers and at all times of day. It brings me a huge amount of pleasure to follow the seasons in this way, and to feel connected to the landscape that surrounds our home.
This is a very self indulgent post really, apologies for that. It is just something that I wanted to create purely for my own satisfaction, so I hope you won't mind indulging me as we follow a year of views. The first picture was taken on 8th January and the last one this morning, 28th December.....
Thank you for sharing.....see you tomorrow for a whole year of HooKy HapPeNiNgs :o)

Well that was just glorious Lucy. So wonderful to have a whole year of views from the attic in pictures. As I scrolled through I was imagining what it will be like for you to look back on that series in say 50 years time. You have created quite an historical record for your village. Lovely.

What a beautiful view. No matter what the season or time of day it is the same, but it is different. Whether it be sunshine, rain, snow, fog, sunrise or sunset it is ever changing. I don't know if i would get much done if I had that perspective of the world to look out upon each day.

What a fun post. I just love how "English" your village looks - just like out of a movie. For a suburban girl from the land of new neighborhoods that all look the same, your old homes with character are so much fun to look at. We live in one of the oldest homes around (late 1800's), and while it drives me nuts with its quirks, they are also the reason why I love it.

I only wish that I had such a view! The only comparable thing that I have here is a very distant view of Long Island Sound from my 2nd floor sewing room window.

Hey Lucy do you ever have the urge to con ETT that attic space into your bedroom? I think I'd have to do that but maybe I'd end up staying in bed all day crocheting and dreaming the day away!!! Much love and happiness for 2014 x

Lucy, I feel your spirit frees itself like a bird in flight when you take these lovely photos. It must be sublime.

I love this post Lucy! The house I grew up in had a lovely view up the valley opposite - I loved having that view & watching it change. We now live in a town and my only view is of the garden, which is lovely but not the same! So I for one look forward to many more pictures taken from the Attic :-)
