I found the above image a while ago when I was searching for a Home-Sweet-Home picture (it's a cross stitch pattern). It looks very like my street in fact, and the house with the green door looks very much like number 24 with it's little dormer attic window. I really like where I live. Occasionally we toy with the idea of moving somewhere a little more spacious, perhaps with a garden, but we always end up feeling too sad about leaving this cosy house in this friendly street. And so we stay. I have become a real home-bird since we moved here and my time spent within these four walls always makes me feel like I'm in exactly the right place.
I enjoy celebrating these hours, days, weeks and months spent at home, enjoy reminding myself of all these little moments of domestic pleasure. Hope you enjoy it too......................
Awwwwww, how precious! Sixty-six images of nothing and everything, these little snippets are so ordinary yet extraordinary. I absolutely love creating these end of year review posts, most especially these Homely ones, and spending the last days of each year strolling down memory lane is soooooo enjoyable!
It's the last day of the year tomorrow and I've got one last review to share with you....thanks so much for calling by. See you tomorrow xxxx
ps my archive Home Reviews are listed below, just in case, you know.......
Lucy
Could you tell me the name of the artist who painted the picture in the white frame please? I have spied them on your blog before and would love something similar.

Beautiful review I love all the photos but my most favourite is those chubby little toes peaking out from under a delightful ripple blanket.
Thank you for sharing.

Thank you for sharing your artist's soul with us. Your passion for colour and cosiness, your love of detail and your desire to inspire have turned my life around this year. A bad bout of depression stopped me working, blogging, writing, photographing life's glorious details and homemaking. When my daughter got her uni place, I decided to crochet a granny blanket and found your site...and joy...and a kindred spirit. Thank you! I look forward to seeing your crocheted home/crocheted wreath books in the shops!

Hi Lucy, great pictures and lovely posts as usual. Your lovely colours provide all the warmth and motivation to carry me through dull grey Delhi winter days. I visit your blog whenever I want to lift my mood/ relax/ destress/ get motivated/ inspired and so on..... wishing you all a happy and prosperous new year. :)

My favourite review, your home looks so colourful, creative and welcoming. Beautiful photos.
Thanks for your comment about the window stars. Looking again at your photos and colours, you may prefer the first kite paper pack I've linked to as it has a deep pink shade in it which is missing from the second pack, plus it has an extra yellow/orange. Although the second pack is better value for money per sheet, the cost of the other pack won't exactly break the bank!
All the best for 2014!
Anne.

If you are happy there Lucy then stay! I made the mistake of moving from my lovely thatched cottage to somewhere more spacious and I regret it so much. My heart still remains in that cute cottage with its log burners and eyebrow windows. Such gorgeous snaps of a colourful home. Have a wonderful 2014 xx

Hi Lucy,
Just wanted to thank you for all the wok you put into you blog. I'm moving house tomorrow- my old home looks like a tornado has been through it, and my new 'partially renovated with much still to do' one looks even worse! Your beautiful photos of domestic loveliness were exactly what I needed to see this morning :-)
Thank you x

So beautiful. I love your sense of home styling, but what I love most is that your home not only looks beautiful, it looks like a real home that people live in and are happy in. There are so many beautiful homes in magazines and on blogs that just don't look real whereas yours really does. Thanks so much for sharing it all with us. Hope you have a happy new year x
