Well Hellooooooooo and welcome to a very colourful and happy post today, in which I am hosting my very first Giveaway. I am super-excited to be doing this and I hope that you'll love what I've got lined up for you. It's perfectly Attic24-ish, so you can expect lots and lots of creative colour with a distinctly playful and happy vibe.
So, lets talk about Rice. No, no, not the white grainy stuff, but the dynamic and brilliant Danish design company Rice DK. To say I am a huge fan is a bit of an understatement, I love this company and it's products so much. They are fun, charming, bright, happy, colourful, and altogether wonderful. If you've been bobbing into the Attic in recent months you will have heard me talk about their products, in particular the colourful melamine. I have a small and much loved collection of bowls, cups and spoons at home and in the caravan and it never fails to put a smile on my face.
Rice DK have a wonderfully inspiring website which showcases their products and gives a great insight into this ethical and genuinely lovely company. Their online catalogues are a fantastic source of happy feel good, with the most amazing styling and photography.
I borrowed these gorgeous images from Rice so that I could wow you with visual happiness....
...oh, so scrummy!!!! Those little melamine cups are just so lovely.....
....well all the melamine is really. I love it all!
Earlier this year, I was thrilled to discover that the founder of Rice DK had published her own book. I couldn't wait to get myself a copy of Charlotte's "Happy Home" and it has become one of my favourite go-to books when I fancy a bit of homey, lighthearted inspiration. Every page is a delight, and radiates colour and happiness. If you pop over to this Amazon link you can do that fabby thing where they let you browse the pages. Go have a look, you'll love it!
I thought you might like to see a few of my favourite pages, to give you a feel for the book, and the Rice style.
It's maybe a bit more "full on" than my own particular style, but I just love to imagine myself inhabiting these colourful rooms, sitting on that glorious sofa, twiddling my toes on that pompom rug, sipping something delicious from a colourful cup, and gazing at this wall...........
.......well, just feast your eyes on that!!!! Makes me want to squeal with pleasure!
This book is aspirational and inspirational, and there is grade A eye candy in these pages.
Now then......we are here to do a Giveaway aren't we? So shall I show you The Happy Haul?
It's such a stunning prize, a whole big collection of Rice DK goodies (including the book!), brought to you by Rice DK (of course) and the wonderful online lifestyle company Fig1.co.uk. I first found Fig1 when I was searching for somewhere online to buy a few more Rice melamine cups in the summer. They stock almost 400 Rice products, including the whole of the fantastic melamine range. Fig1 is a real bricks and mortar shop as well as an online one, and is owned and run by the friendliest of folk. Real people who obviously love their products and care about their customers. So imagine my delight when I received an email from Mark (the owner of Fig1), asking me if I would like to offer a giveaway of Rice products on my blog. I answered YES in a heartbeat, and was then even more bowled over when I received this picture..............
Wow!!!!! Just.......WOW!!!! This is the glorious, generous prize up for grabs :: £150 worth of Rice DK Christmas goodies. Mark from Fig1 styled and photographed this little lot especially for Attic24, and the very sight of all that gorgeous colour and pattern makes me swoon.
The melamine cups, bowls and plates are special Christmas designs, but in all honesty they are just so pretty that I know I would use them all year round.
There are so many lovely things here :: cake tins and Christmas decorations, candles and of course the gorgeous Happy Home book.
Here is a list of everything that's included ::
What a treasure trove!!
In addition to all the Rice deliciousness, I am also going to include one of my own little crochet Lavender Birds. The lucky winner gets to choose their own colours and I will make it up especially, stuffing it's little tummy with my precious Provence Lavender.
In addition to the competition, Rice Melamine at Fig1.co.uk is offering a 10% discount on all Rice DK products at Fig1.co.uk. (ooooooooooooooooo!) Simply enter the code MY_ATTIC24 in the promotional code box on the basket page. This offer lasts for the duration of the competition, ie until Monday 1st December 2013. Again, I'm sorry to those of you overseas, but this discount is only for UK peeps.
This fantastic giveaway has been kindly sponsored by Rice Melamine at Fig1.co.uk. With a little bit of additional happy-happy from me.
♥GOOD LUCK!♥

I would love to win - Rice DK products are gorgeous - choosing one is just too hard, but like Lucy I love the melamine cups and am determined to buy one, just for me, soon.

Hi Lucy - I was expecting the survey to ask me questions, but all I could do was make up a user name and password and then it wanted me to make up my own survey - so not sure that I've done that right? Anyway, I've left a comment on Fig 1 and now on here to say how lovely the Rice homewares are and that I love the Happy Home book and that it would be great to win some colourful goodies for my home xx

Wonderful wonderful colours and products that fit brilliantly with the Attic 24 vibe. Always comes to this blog for a bit of colourful inspiration particularly on a cold winters day. Wouldn't say no to a few of these things landing on my doorstep plus some lavender birds. Keep up the good work!

This is a horribly dark and cold time of year, it warms me to the core to see such an array of bright and cheerful things. How could anyone fail to be enlivened by all that ?!

I would love to win. I'm going through a transition period just now where I would like plates amd kitchen things to be more fun, the kids really do appreciate good plates and comments on the few fancy ones I have. If I won the rice products I would be so happy.

I absolutely adore your blog, but it's only reading the giveaway rules that makes me realise I haven't commented yet. I should, because reading it gives me so much colourful homey pleasure and makes me want to tuck up on my sofa and natter about life and crafts.
I'd love to have a home as gorgeous and bright as yours... winning the competition would sparkle up my day, though I suspect I'll be buying some lovely products from Fig.1 in the near future anyhow!!
