We live in a cosy terraced house on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales in England which we are slowly renovating and making home. I have a passion for crochet and colour and love to share my creative journey. I hope you enjoy your peek into my colourful little world x

What an extraordinary outpouring of love and affection and solidarity, Lucy. A marvelous comment on the way of crafters worldwide and how we come together in so many ways for each other and for millions we will never meet. Thank you for sharing this opportunity with your readers and these pictures will live in infamy as the bunting travels about making its own history. I love the whole project and what it stands for in today's society.

Firstly "Happy Birthday" Lucy!! Hope you had a wonderful day and weekend away and that the year ahead will be filled to the brim with colour happiness! THANK YOU!! for what you may ask ... well where do I begin! For selflessly posting all your patterns and instructions - you taught me to crochet and I LOVE IT! I made 8 ripple blankets last year!! I have actually posted pics of them on Pinterest!! For being a colour soul sister in this world of beige and grey!! This post brought tears to my eyes and the image of that bunting was for me an image of pure joy!!

Hi Lucy,

I wrote a little blog post on contributing to the Yarndale bunting bonanza!

Wow Lucy. WOW. You are amazing, inspiring and creating this. It looks stunning. Well done to you and everyone who pitched in.

That is just the most beautiful sight - wouldn't it make the most fantastic bunting for a home-made wedding... it's almost enough to make me want to get married all over again!

The room looks like a lovely church. The buntings remind me of stained glass.

Tomorrow..Saturday October 12th is Lucy's Birthday. Want to join me in BOMBING her with birthday wishes?? Happy Birthday Lucy from all of us hookers from around the world! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a3MgQqT3uHY

Amazing, beautiful, stunning, fantastic work! Funny how a bit of string and a hook or some needles can accomplish so much. I'm inspired now to make some bunting of my own, to cheer me through the long winter to come.

this brought tears to my eyes. it's a cathedral ceiling and the united nations all in one. saint helena!!!!! presente!!!!!

What an inspirational blog post! It is just so touching that so many reached out and helped, and Amanda's words were spot on!

Congratulations on making a gift that keeps giving, bring unity to all of those who participated and something that can be used again and again to inspire and warm the heart!

Lucy, you and our team did a magnificent job and it's wonderful that people from all over the world sent their offerings. A stunning and uplifting display. Very well done to all concerned.

Hi Lucy, It was great to meet you. You are exactly as you appear to be in the blog. A wonderful, kind and caring individual.

The bunting was amazing.

My husband and I were blown away by the kindness of everyone we met. The residents of Skipton are awesome. We really enjoyed visiting the castle and the canals with the ducks and swans.

I must confess one of the highlights of my visit to Skipton was a visit to Morrisons. I had such a good time checking out all the various British groceries available. Unfortunately, I could not buy as much as I would have liked because of customs restrictions.

Thanks again for taking time to meet me.

Take care,

Diane from Ohio

I had started and made many many triangles, but I did not send them and I really wish I had. :(
it would have been wonderful to be a tiny part of this.
but instead I made a blanket with all of the triangles I made and then made more and just couldn't stop until I ran out of yarn (sort of)

it is a delightful bunting!!!

Incredibly beautiful. I am very glad you posted the photos. I love reading your posts and hearing about all the crochet adventures. I have discovered a new passion. Jen

I'm crying at work reading this!! (It is my lunch hour) The bunting was fab at Yarndale and we even spotted some of our own work which was great. It's just so great to see how something so simple can unite so many people from across the world to create something so wonderful! There must be a Yarndale 2014!

Just beautiful! So much colour! I wish I could have made it to Yarndale, you've all done a truely remarkable job!
PS Will you have time to do the Bower Bird tutorial now??? ;o) In time for Christmas?...xx

A lovely story with a happy ending :)
Make sure there are no mice in the basement or they could be having a lovely time too!

What a wonderful feeling it is to have been able to participate in such an amazing thing - the finished result is just spectacular. Thanks for dreaming this up Lucy, and letting us join in from all over the world.

I travelled from Chester with a friend to Yarndale and had such a lovely day out. The bunting all the way from the car park with the green rollimg hills in the background was fantastic and the final flourish in the entrance was stunning. Shall look forward to returning next year.
