Sweet Attic moments, appreciating the slow shift in the season and the crisp clarity of the late summer light. Yes, I said late summer. Sum-mer. We are NOT in Autumn yet people (Hannah, I'm looking at you!), my flip flops are still on.
This view calms me, makes me feel glad to be here, right here and nowhere else.
Baking banana bread to feed my uber-hungry Little Peeps, gosh they seem to be always on the hunt for food these days.
Creating a poster for the Studio, in a very low-tech way as you can see.
Super-pleased with this image, as it is exactly as I saw it on the camera. Point and shoot. No tripod, no cropping, no colour adjustments. Just me using my eyes and hands to hold steady and frame the shot. Click. Got it. It followed an obscene number of failed attempts. Hours and hours of them.
Yarn bombing madness. Crocheting little covers for a pile of plastic balls, as I have this idea to suspend them from the branches of a tree like fruits. Bonkers, but amazing fun.
Total appreciation for my non essential (but totally necessary) white appliances. Dishwasher, and Tumble Drier, I Love You. Don't ever desert me.
Spending a morning with my fellow Yarndalers decking out the ticket office at our town's train station. It is now buntinged, ready to welcome visitors in warm woolly style.
Oh my poor, poor studio, under siege from all the bunting. So much bunting. Bunting everywhere.
Pile upon beautiful pile of it, waiting patiently to be strung, hung and admired.
Fifteen of us this morning at knit n natter, working like the clappers.
We strung 250 metres, approximately one quarter of the total. Did I mention we have over SIX THOUSAND TRIANGLES?????????
This week has been crazy hectic busy for me, it's been uncomfy and stressy but also pretty great. I am working flat out trying to keep all my balls in the air, but also trying extremely hard to stop still from time to time and give thanks for the important things. To appreciate all that is good. The sky, the clouds, my dishwasher, my Little Peeps, my creativity, my fab friends, my place in the community.
My life is FULL, oh so full. Head down, keep on keeping on. It's all good.

Good luck with Yarndale Alexandra XXX

Wow wish I was going to yarndale! I want to yarn bomb my house! How do I make covers for the balls? I'm guessing they're ball pool balls?!

Keep going Lucy.....you are SO close now and Yarndale is going to be fantastic - can't wait :-). Booked to stay in a cottage in the Dales - got talking to the person in the call centre when I was booking it and now she will be heading to Yarndale too!

Just a question...What happens to all that lovely bunting once the event is over? So much talent and time, how does it get put to another good use?
Posted by: Joan | September 14, 2013 at 12:26 AM
Do you realize that if 250 meters is only a fourth of the triangles, you will have over half a mile of triangles? It will be so beautiful!
The poster is just perfect.

I'm sitting here laughing. Six thousand triangles.
You had no idea what you got yourself into when you asked us for triangles, did you? <3

Hi Lucy,
Oh how exciting seeing the train station decorated with bunting on your blog as we are arriving by train and have just brought our tickets! I was very excited to see that and let out a small squeal! You are all working so hard and doing and amazing job. Thank you as so many people will get so much pleasure from all your hard work and hope you all will too. I think you will need a lie down in a dark when when its all over or maybe a nice break in your lovely caravan will have been well earned. Love the new out door fire. Very nice. Enjoy a good weekend and thank you as ever.

Hi Lucy I think you are doing fabulously well and can't wait for Yarndale, hope my triangles arrived safely although, if they haven't, you obviously have more than enough. Have a great weekend Lucy and try and have a wee rest too.
Lots of love as always

Ha! I just looked at my stats and realised you must have referenced me - I must have missed it when I read your post the first time on my phone.
I think your feet must be getting chilly in those flip flops, Lucy ;)
Keep on keeping on is a very good way to look at it. Such full lives and so much to look forward to. Happy work indeed x

How on earth are we ever going to spot our "Bunting" contribution amongst 6000? That is amazing! Of course you must post lot's and lot's and lot's of photo's from Yarndale for those of us who are unable to attend. Another dishwasher owner here.....I could not live without mine...we call it "Helga" lol....

Oh, lucy, do you already regret asking for help with the bunting? Are your buddies going to help you all the way through to get them all strung? I hope so. Take lots of pictures, ok? Wish I could be there!

Oh Lucy, that second photo of the view from the attic is one to linger over. In any weather.

That looks a great banana cake Lucy! Can we have the recipe? I'm always throwing bananas away when they get over ripe.
