About Me

  • Hello! Thank you so much for visiting me in the Attic, it's lovely to see you. My name is Lucy and I'm a happily married Mum with three children. We live in a cosy terraced house on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales in England which we are slowly renovating and making home. I have a passion for crochet and colour and love to share my creative journey. I hope you enjoy your peek into my colourful little world x

Lovely photos, wonderful Dorset. Glad you all had such a good time.

Enjoyed reading about your holiday, which sounded similar to my holidays with my three when they were young. I do miss those times. PS I miss my lean-to, they are so useful

I have loved reading your post as we went to Lyme Regis this year in may and it brought back happy memories. I am still trying to write a pattern for a rather lovely hat I have made but I can't seem to get it down right somehow see my blog if you think you can help me with pattern writing tips anyone. Jo x

Nikki

Hi Lucy
So enjoyed your holiday post. looks like a sweet little place. Strange to think you are ending your summer and we have only just started our Spring, although weather wise, it is far from spring here!

Thistle

Looks like so much fun. I've always enjoyed seeing your mother's lean-to, I'm so glad you shared it again!

Ali

I am beyond charmed by the tan lines on Little B's feet. Perfect souvenir of summer.

Such a lovely holiday! I see the pretty rainbow houses!(The pink one is still my favorite.) :))Look forward to the next installment. Another rainy day here I'm afraid, but so glad you all have sunny times.

Louise

Love your mum's cozy kitchen! The apple certainly didn't fall far from the tree! You've definitely inherited the gift of making your home so beautifully warm and inviting.

Kate

Funny to think of you and your family in all the same places as my Niece and her family ( who live in Bridders) on the same days...their Bank Holiday weekend fun followed exactly the same pattern as yours!

Tonia

Oh that all looks wonderful! I'm very envious of your beach camp that, despite my daughter being 15 (15!! How did that happen??), I may have to create one for myself.

What a lovely ' vacation'! I love reading your blog- but then I have to stop working on my ripple! Lol

Hi from Pentwater Michigan USA- along Lake Michigan.

A lovely post Lucy, it made me re read your old holiday posts which in turn reminded me so much of my own family holidays....
My daughter and her family live in Weymouth and they did the exact opposite to you last week they came north to see me !
Thank you for sharing

I'm reading this very wistfully Lucy, as when I look out of my window, it's a rather grey day, up north! Dorset is beautiful ... I was lucky to visit my friend there a few years ago ... it rained the whole week which apparently was very unusual, but I could still the beauty and charm of the county, through the raindrops!

Glad you had a lovely time

how strange ! - I thought I was the only person in the world who has a 'thing' about lean-to and utility rooms!! Haven't got one - never had one - but soooo want one!!! Thank you for sharing your lovely holiday with us - oh and I have put a beach tent on my wish list lol!!! xxxx

Looks like a lovely holiday.
I never got to the seaside during my months in England, wish I did now.
Even with all your photo's, I marvel at a pebble beach, our's are sand. Sand that gets into everything.
Today is my girl's 23 birthday, have done a blog post of lots of photo's of her. Have a look if you wish

I love the way you write about things.

Your photos capture the essence of a sea-side summer holiday for me. Our best holidays ever have been along the dorset/cornwall coast!

It all looks perfect......the perfect time away. I love going away to Wales to visit family. They live on the Gower, a two minute walk to the sea front and just a 5 minute drive to the best little beach I know. I think the best memories are made being with family, when you have a family.......and being by water!

Lovely to stop by and catch up with you Lucy. It's been a while for me, but you have a been a perfect morning read with my coffee!

Take care

Inge

Lovely holiday post !
Very relaxing.

Laura

Your mum's lean to reminded me of my Nan's. It was always full of lovely baskets and used clay flowerpots and smelt of lavender (which hung from the roof) and potting compost! The perfect place.....xxx

helen

How nice to have a place to return to that feels like home. It looks like a perfect holiday, lots of pootling and splashing around and seeing family, just lovely!
