About Me

  • Hello! Thank you so much for visiting me in the Attic, it's lovely to see you. My name is Lucy and I'm a happily married Mum with three children. We live in a cosy terraced house on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales in England which we are slowly renovating and making home. I have a passion for crochet and colour and love to share my creative journey. I hope you enjoy your peek into my colourful little world x

I am so excited for you all! What a fantastic event! I too am in the USA(Georgia) so getting there isnt working out! But I will be thinking of the fun that everyone will have and especially how proud you all are of what you have accomplished!

Oh Lucy - what a mega post!!! Have glanced through but am saving it for later so I can make tea and absorb in more detail.. You and LittleB are obviously very busy and how exciting it must be to note all the details as the parcels arrive. Well done you, especially as you are also enjoying the school holidays!!!

You are doing a fantastic job, its lovely to hear all about it. Can't wait for yarndale. Looking forward to seeing your beautiful part of the country. Keep the good work up, but hope you find time to relax.xx

Brilliant! Must be VERY exciting for all involved- the response to the bunting is awesome. So sorry I couldn't take a stand this year- life intervened in the shape of an operation, so have to wait for next year's event, but I'm planning already...

Oh I was so excited to see the triangles, I can only imagine how you must feel that strangers have just popped something in the post for you! I sent one because I just knew what that would feel like if someone did that for me. And Summer holidays.... it's all OK here at the moment but I don't know how long it will last for! Great post, I didn't want it to end. I am still making something everyday here http://joeveryday19.blogspot.co.uk Jo x

Love your birds!

Kate Eastwood

Wow Lucy - it's all so exciting. You are working so hard, and I cannot wait to see the Programme you are putting together, almost as excited about that as actually coming to Yarndale.
Love, love, love your blog. Kate x

Gosh, you and Little .bare being kept busy! My bunting parcel will be sent through, and since it contains fewer than 13 he should be able to count them. I'm so excited about Yarndale! Only 60 sleeps? Excellent! Lovely post as always!

Sounds like a huge amount of work, but also a lot of fun! Little B sounds very apt at sorting and handling all those parcels! The bunting looks fabulous, cannot wait to see them all hanging!

Oh Lucy, how exciting to see all the parcels arriving! Mine is one of the ones from Australia, I wonder if it's mine you mention in the post? I would like to think it is, so that's what I will do, imagine it's mine :-) I wish I could be there to see Yarndale but at least a little bit of me shall be there in the form of my bunting, xxBrenda

Holley Downs

Lucy, I would also like to be able to attend (Watkinsville, Georgia) but alas I will have to through your postings and Facebook! I know it will be a great success! Hope my little triangles made it. I really look forward to reading your posts! Oh, and I really love the birds!

Mary M.

Dear Lucy, I SO wish I could attend. But it's a long trip from Maine, USA. I hope it all goes well for you. Looks like it will be such fun. And I can't wait to see all the triangles hung! Enjoy! I'll "attend" through your postings. Best Day to You............Mary in Maine :-)

Angela- Southern USA

Oh Lucy! It looks like so much fun, busy time for you all. I would SO dearly l-o-v-e to be able to attend...sigh Look forward to seeing it through you eyes/blog. All the bunting, WOW! Working on the last myself before posting. On a selfish note, Wouldn't it be wonderful if you keep one from each as a big hug from us the world over Lucy friends :))On the sheep's head, maybe worked in the round, like for a hat, then stitched straight across at the top, with felt ears attached...LOVE the tweetie birds!!Congrats to you all on the hard work,I know it will be wonderful.

A brilliant post as always Lucy, the little bird brooch is gorgeous and I will definately be buying a brochure for the pattern. At the care home where my Mum is a resident, one of the other residents loves birds so I am going to make one of your birds with th dingly dangly legs to hang up in her room & a brooch bird too! Brilliant Lucy.
Well I visited your lovely little town this afternoon and left my granny bunting with the lovely lady at Purl&Jane. Now here I have to complain! I came out of that shop hyperventilating and several £'s poorer! Lol ! What a GORGEOUS shop! When I got back to my car I was texting my friend I such a state of excitement!
Take care
Love Carole from Rossendale xx

Hi Lucy so lovely to read your post, I really miss your writing, you always bring a smile to my face and a cheer in my heart. Am busy working on bunting for you and hoping to come to fest too. Have a great weekend Lucy, try to have some you time Lucy.........lots of love

I'm so glad it all coming together for you must be soooo exciting, I love you little birdie brooch, it's so sweet. Plus so much yarny post. When I posted mine last week the lady in our new village post office asked what was in my parcel (a new post office policy) whenI said crochetd bunting, there was much laughter as the lady in the shop and the lady trainer her from the post office, said never in a million year would they have thought I'd say crocheted bunting, uniting the crafty world and making people smile and laugh, you're all doing a great job .
Clare x

Ah, pleased to see my parcel has arrived...at least, what I think my parcel looked like!

Bit concerned, though, to see 'dying' rather than 'dyeing' on the business card/photo for Yarndale in the top photo!

I love reading your blog. My daughter who is 10 said she just loves the 2 little birds and how the little heart button on the blue bird looks cute.

I'm soooo excited for you! And I wish so much I could be there (I'm way over on Vancouver Island, Canada). My bunting triangles are done and will get them off this week. I luv that little Tweetie Bird Brooch. What an event Yarndale will be!!! The yarns from Stylecraft...my the colors are juicy! Remember to take a few deep breaths from time to time and time out at the Connievan. You have a world of support m'dear. Hugs, MO

What a fabulous post! Did you ever in your wildest dreams think you would be doing all this a few years ago? It never ceases to amaze me the things people can achieve and the direction people's lives can travel when they put their creative mind to it. I hope you are immensely proud of yourself Lucy as (and this might sound daft as a 'stranger') we are proud of you.
So much talent and creativity, I am in awe!

Anne Marie

Woo hoo, quite exhausting. I must get some of the Stylecraft yarn half pack, it would be more practical for in cars etc.

I'd love to come over to Yarndale. Meanwhile, I'll have to reread your post!
