Do you think of Fridays as the start of the weekend? I do. I love Fridays. I've just put a bottle of prosecco in the fridge ready for my 4pm Friday girly gathering with friends and neighbours.
I've also just baked a batch of blueberry cookies. I used this choc chip recipe, but left out the chocolate chips and popped three blueberries in the top of each cookie before they went into the oven.
They look a bit weird, but oh my, they are a taste sensation. Juicy sweet fruit bursting on the tongue with soft chewy cookie melting in afterwards.
Well our gorgeous Spring weather was short lived and we are back to wet, cold, autumnal conditions here. I lit the fire yesterday afternoon and despite my disgusting crossness at the weather (winter coat and boots back out grrrrrr), it was heavenly to sit by the fire for a while with my latest book (Winter Solstice). I've just cleaned out the grate and laid the kindling and firelighters ready to go again when I get back from a good drenching on the school run.
I'm planning a weekend full of as much yarn and crochet as I can manage. I've got a gazillion ideas squeezed into my Creative Mind at the moment and I desperately need to release some of them before I start climbing the walls! Haha....was going to write a list of these ideas, but it is SO Bonkers that I have decided to keep it to myself. I'll give you some key words though.....
Balls. Lamp. Sheep. See, I told you. Bonkers!
By the way....can I ask for a little bit of help? The first picture at the top of this post, does anyone know the original source? I came across it on my travels in blogland (forget where exactly) and love it so much, but haven't been able to find out who created the image. Would love to know.
HaPpY wEeKeNd, have fun!

Edit :: thank you SO much for the info, I always feel bad if I can't credit the original designer....in this case it is the beautifully talented Carolyn Gavin. I really love her style :o) pity the poster is only available in the US (Ecojot) x
Another edit.....OHMYGOSH, check out Carolyn's PiNtErEsT boards, they are AweSoMe!
I love Winter Solstice......reread it each winter as a reminder of the warmth displayed in it's story of people at loose ends coming together to nurture each other. Hope you will join me in a reread during the Winter Solstice this year.......Love your blog it is like revisiting one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen.

Do you do that often? It seems very cosy to me. Something I would like too. Just with a few friends around the table. With some snacks and drinks and have a cozy chat.

Love weekends although with summer break coming up, I'm looking forward to a sleep in every once in a while.
I like to add blueberries to an oatmeal cookie recipe along with chopped walnuts. Yummy!
Looks like you all had a great weekend.

¡Sniff! ¿Por qué no salió mi comentario?
Sólo te ponía dos enlaces de la ilustradora que buscabas y te decía que Rosamunde me encanta así como Robin Pilcher. Y siempre estoy esperando nuevo libro

Love the photos Lucy, and the family atmosphere that you conjure up with your chatty narrative... there is a website much closer to home that has a similar feeling to the picture you asked about.. http://www.thesingingtree.biz/ - all kinds of everything there and a blogging style and creativity that matches your own. Not my blog, by the way; hope it is okay to post the link, Helen is worth a look if you have five minutes.

I love Friday's. They mean no more sleeps to the weekend. I can come home from work, put my feet up and not clock watch for 'bed times'! I know that next Friday evening I'll be baking cookies now. Take care. Chel x

My bag from Yarndale was waiting for me when I got home! It is so cute love the sheep. It will be very useful. It was very icily wrapped on tissue paper on the parcel as well.
I am going to start on some of your squares or circles today with my pretty new Stylecraft yarn.

Just read your choc chip cookie recipe - I use syrup in my cookies too! I use Canadian maple syrup and add oatmeal, because I LOVE a good oatmeal choc chip cookie! I will have to try putting blueberries in next time. Sounds lovely.

I had to tell you that Winter Solstice is one of my favourite books. I read it twice a year, once at Christmas, and again in the depths of a New Zealand winter around July. Actually that sounds odd now I've written it, but it's a wonderful book.

Oh Friday at 4pm - computer shut down, coat on and head out of work. I'm so lucky to live so close to where I work. In through the door, change out of stuffy work clothes, pick up needle/hook/glue/fabric/etc. let my real life begin. Last night it was the sewing machine.
Love your blog.

Fridays are the best day and yes the beginning of the weekend for sure.....
Thinking about your inability to acquire the Happy weekend piece: just a thought...... print out the piece you posted to your blog and frame it!
I know your disappointment - I tried to acquire I Ken Eardley piece and while I was able to find a source in the UK to ship here to the States: by the time postage and insurance were added on well: it seemed a wee to extravagant for buy for myself for no occasion..... Thought I'd print out a copy and pin to my inspiration board though because looking at it gives me that much pleasure! Have a great weekend with the Girlies and your yarny goodness!

I too am already in week-end mode and it's only 10:00 a.m. Will have to make those cookies later, I love blueberries. I LOVED Winter Solstice when I read it years ago. Sorry your weather has gone back to yuk. Am looking forward to seeing what you get up to with your hooking ideas. Also anxiously awaiting news of your remodeling plans. Happy week-end.

Working shifts weekends are precious when I get them off. Tomorrow 6.30am is 'Monday' morning for me but having a cosy 'Sunday' night in catching up on the tv and finishing a cardigan I am knitting for a 2 year olds birthday pressie.
Enjoy your weekend.x
