My March mosaic, only a couple weeks behind schedule which is pretty good for me these days.
The March weather was not great, and my pictures tell the story of a month spent mostly cosying up indoors. Chocolate and flowers and buttery toast and buttons and yarn. And the Studio. Yes, March will be remembered for the Studio Story I think, it occupied so much of my time and thoughts throughout last month.
April is becoming the month of the House. Lots happening here behind the scenes, discussions about renovations and walls and doors and wires. Builders, electricians, scary structural people. Biggish changes. I am feeling excited and nervous and joyful and tearful all at once. House talk makes my emotions bubble up rather alarmingly. But it's good! It's all good.

The renovations sound exciting although the mess they will create doesn't!

Lucy, i sympathise as we have had a wall knocked down in our kitchen and are still mid-restructure. It will be worth it, think how lovely your bathroom is and this will be more so..!!

Your home looks perfect as it is. I can't imagine what you could do better. But I know there are always things to do in an old house. I also live in an old house and have renovations in every summer since 11 years. It never ends. Hope you can go through relaxed and have nice weather to spent a lot of time outside. Best wishes from Germany, Susanne

Eek! We are preparing for the builders here in The House of Jones too! I am excited for the end result but not looking forward to the mess and chaos. I shall be baking lots of nice goodies in an attempt to encourage them we are nice people and to reward us with high quality work and careful stepping when they trudging through the rest of the house!! Do you think it'll work?!

Bless you for your delightful blog. My gorgeous new daughter in law is learning to crochet ( I can't but I will when I retire - soooon) courtesy of your brilliant tutorials. You are opening a whole new world to us both - and your outdoor photos are the inspiration to keep DH and I walking - ready for the Coast to Coast next year - even though it doesn't come near the Attic!
All the best for the Reno

Looking at the photos of your house never fails to cheer me up, it looks so colourful and inviting - a proper home! Renovations are always a bit scary, but it'll all work out in the end and you'll be delighted with it, I'm sure xx

From experience, renovating can be quite stressful. During this time, just remember how your beautiful home will look when the work is completed.

Builders and plumbers and electricians, oh my! I just cannot wait to see what you're doing. House talk makes my emotions bubble up rather alarmingly, too. Even when it's someone else's house. And, despite the bad weather in March, you can have the satisfaction of that gloriously colourful March mosaic.

It'll be worth it in the end. Honestly. I must tell you - the only person I have EVER sworn at face to face was a builder. But then I had just returned to work part time from maternity leave, I had a 9 month old, my nearly 5 year old was starting Reception, our belongings were in storage and we were all living in a damp converted garage for three winter months. But. Oh, it was worth it. It made such a difference to our family. Like you, we lived in our home before making decisions about alterations and solving as many of those little niggly problems as your budget allows for is great. Good luck!

I'm sure your house "stuff" will have a gorgeous conclusion. We're trying to decide whether to do some serious work on our house or whether to move, so I completely sympathise with the bubbling emotions!
