About Me

  • Hello! Thank you so much for visiting me in the Attic, it's lovely to see you. My name is Lucy and I'm a happily married Mum with three children. We live in a cosy terraced house on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales in England which we are slowly renovating and making home. I have a passion for crochet and colour and love to share my creative journey. I hope you enjoy your peek into my colourful little world x

That liberty lined cupboard is so beautiful, I don't think I would want to put anything on it and cover it up.. lol! Loved reading about all the walking you have managed to do, it makes my feet want to get back out there.

p.s Just bought a yarndale bag x

I'm glad to read you are back on track. Your studio is really coming together now and been 'Lucyified'! Fantastic shots of your countryside, makes my husband home sick! Chel x

That box of yarn wouldn't half cheer me up too! Can't wait to hear more about it :)
Excellent news about Yarndale - it's going to be one heck of an event!

As one of the previous comments said looking at your pictures makes me homesick too!

i miss just being able to pop out for 'fresh air and views' if it wasnt for having mad parents i would move back!

So exciting to have a new stash of yarn! I have been using the same one as your new one, and it's a pleasure to work with :) Love your new cupboard too, what a great idea!

I loved the simplicity and warmth of this post. Here in Japan everything is bursting with color. Your yarn box reminded me of the colors of my garden. The garden path photo was especially wonderful...there was such a wonderful atmosphere about it-serene and peaceful but filled with the hope and promise of spring!! You have such a lovely blog and have been one of the main inspirations for my crochet endeavors which have helped me tremendously with adjusting to our "new life" in Japan.

Yarndale bag is fab and has been duly purchased ~ I really wish I could be coming to the big event itself but it's not possible this time round ~ maybe next year! Looking forward to seeing what your new crochet is going to be too. Hope that you have a very lovely weekend and that the weather is good to you :O)xxxxx

I love your cupboard (and your wonderful studio !)

Glad you have 'adjusted' and you are sounding quite jolly again. But down times can be good for reflecting I think...how do we know sweet if we don't have some sour. Luv that box of yarns...oh so yummy with color! Look forward to your ta-dahs, m'dear. Hugs, M

What a beautiful spot for a walk, the views are stunning. And a lovely spot by the studio window too. It makes me want to sit down and be creative. Spring is definitely springing now, at long last, hurray!

So good to know that you feel more cheerful now. It is just sometimes life gets hectic, but you need to wait and things become fine again. I am so so glad of all your initiatives, like Yarndale too and studio! Well done :)
Have a nice day!

Hello Lucy...I picked up an old hutch, bottom half only off the curbside and plan on giving it a good cleaning, possibly painting it a colonial red or blue leaving the top natural. Waiting for the weather to warm up abit as I also have 4 chairs that need painting and would like to re-do fabric on seats. Orange and White stripes possibly? Unfortunately I can never find any good bargain prices on fabric and paint that appeals to me, so it cost more to decorate then I want it to. It does feel satisfying when you transform trash to treasure! Keep up the good work! Stay inspired! Kitty from U.S.A. New Jersey

I wish i could vsit your place.

I love your work... its is so colourful, lively and uplifting !!!

That is one cool place to relax.. Such a very cool view + fresh air. Perfect!

Next time you are out walking with your children- pick the celendine and let them see the yellow liquid that oozes out. They can paint designs with it- on rocks or on thier hands.

I'm glad you are feeling better. It must be difficult to have a happy mood when the weather is gray (grey) and cloudy with no spring around...then things change, the sky is blue, the sun comes out and spring starts to show it's face. I live in the Southwest desert in Arizona, USA. The summer is extremely hot and I get a good case of cabin fever by August...I just want to go outside and not swelter! I feel your pain! Wishing you happy days ahead...

What a beautifull bag! It's a lovely cow!
I love the excitement of new projects...

Such wonderful pictures Lucy!
I understand the adjustment after vacations,
get a little lonely after all the chatting
with other's while away ☺

Lovely photos. Wow, that yarn looks yummy!
Bag ordered, can't come to Yarndale without the bag!

Thank you for posting your gorgeous photos. I get to transport myself back to that lovely town and countryside whenever I visit here. Just had to tell you that I've become addicted to making your flower brooches and also making the rose flowers into brooches to sell at our school fete next month. x
