About Me

  • Hello! Thank you so much for visiting me in the Attic, it's lovely to see you. My name is Lucy and I'm a happily married Mum with three children. We live in a cosy terraced house on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales in England which we are slowly renovating and making home. I have a passion for crochet and colour and love to share my creative journey. I hope you enjoy your peek into my colourful little world x

Oh I so need myself one of those... or maybe two, or even three. And Studio!!!???? I'm convinced I stalk you, but I've missed that one - can't wait to see it! :-D Jude.x

I'm jumping in my seat by the sight of this. What a great idea for those boring old magnetic boards! Now I absolutely want to have one :-).
So SO SO! curious about your studio!

Kari

Can't wait to see the studio. Especially since you are the queen and all time champ of prettifying. I'd love to have a real place for all my stuff. Maybe when the kids move out. Hee, hee.

Carine_07

I would love to see a crocheted daffodil or a cluster of Japanese quince flowers on this board.

Liesbeth

Dear Lucy and friends, I wish you Good Luck in The Studio. The Attic, however, shall never be the same, The Attic, at nr. 24, will no longer be The Attic. I can understand that. Children grow up and they need space! So now you are going to have A Studio. Do you have A Name for The Studio? I liked the buttons on the magnets very much. My daughter bought me button-magnets so I could stick them to my lamp, she did this yesterday, such a coincidence! Good Luck, Lucy, I wish you well. Love from Holland!

Oh Luce - what ever will you think of next?
xx

Vicky

Love the notice board and the interactive stationary. Thank you.

Kate

I very nearly bought some mod podge the other day, pondered long and hard...now wishing I had! Very exciting about the studio- it will be wonderful for you.

Linda Kennedy

Another inspired makeover! When I read your first paragraph I was so tempted to cheat and frogety hop (my made up word!) along to the end to see the finished product. However I reined in my excitement and thoroughly enjoyed reading about its journey from grey to grand!

Well done again!

What a great makeover, I must get some MP! What a pity I didn't see this sooner, I would have asked my son to bring me a Spontan on his last visit, no IKEA close to me unfortunately. Can't wait for your Studio post! Rowen@Coastal Colours x

Louise

Very intrigued by your studio. Can't wait to read your post about it to see what you have been up to.

Love the notice board, it is very YOU!!

Nancy Nicholson

Hi from over here! Thanks Lucy for popping the birds around your lovely Attic! They do look great there!

I didn't realise that you could get Mod Podge in the UK, may have to look it out as I have an equally dull, although white, magnetic notice board that I'm sure would be very pleased to get a little prettifying!

I love what you did with the buttons, I think the addition of thread was inspired...will definately be doing that in the future.

Can't wait for the pics of the studio!

One-oh-four

Love the word "prettifying", so much better than upcycling, or "pimping" which is the word in current usage around here. Your inspiration board is really beautiful, can't wait to see the rest of "The Studio".....

belinda knott

So totally you. I love it! Belinda x

Very cool Lucy! Am going to give my hands a rest after pinging out a shawl in two days flat! A bit of cut and stick sounds idyllic!

Lynne Gill

I've loved Nancy Nicholson's work for ages, just the kind of style I wish I could adopt myself!

I had a chuckle when I saw your board, because I have spent great wodges of this weekend making my 'command centre' board for my kitchen I've been blogging about trying to get some oder into my chaotic life, and been perusing blogs and youtube for ideas on managing /organising my household. Some of the stuff going on out there is frankly terrifying...I wouldn't like to meet some of these women they sound so controlled! But by pinching an idea here and there, and adapting them to my own home and lifestyle, I really think I've more or less got it sorted. Not quite there though..... And longing to see your studio!!!

maypole

eeeeee! I can't wait to see it!

Mylittlecorner

I just LOVE all your ideas and pretty things ... your blog is so inspiring. Can not wait to see the whole Studio project and to discover more about it. From what I can see it already looks like a lovely dream come true.

Maria

Lucy this idea is really fantastic, I also have a magnetic board (resting in a closet) and I'd like to do for her a beautiful dress, thank you!

karen

I just love popping in here! So inspirational! I CANNOT wait to hear the studio story! Have a great week.

Sue

Such fun - I want one and the buttons are perfect :)

Debbie

You are officially an IKEA hacker! Yay!

Cassandra

I use the word prettifying all the time. I have never bothered to look it up though, I love the definition. Your spontan looks great!

Twolittleflowers

We have a white version of your useful board. It is covered edge to edge with small person artwork....not much point in prettifying ours just yet. :). Yours is lovely and I really like the thread detail on your buttons. Sweet. Have an excellent week.
